There are millions of explanations as to who wrote the bible... What about aliens? What about evolved humans? What about super-intelligent, sentient ant species that died out long ago? What makes any of those less likely than a God?

It's sad that those who spend their entire lives trying to refute the existence of God or the bible as being folklore, and when presented with actual scientific mathematical facts (they immediately ignore), their ego's will not permit them to admit their stupidity. I guess my main problem with this video is I have studied Greek and Hebrew and the whole premise of this video humors me. They didn't have numbers in these alphabets. They used the letters to represent different numbers. I get what you're trying to say and as a Christian I can appreciate what this means, but this video's point seems to be based on false pretenses.

The Bible states that before the flood, no rain fell upon the earth, rather, the ground was fed by springs (Genesis 2:6). This would be an ideal climate for large reptiles such as dinosaurs. At mankind's present level of Spiritual evolution, it is impossible to understand such things such as where did God come from, what is our relation to time and space..whathaveyou. There is more than one creator..you are evidence of this. You are created in the image of God. Like God, you also create. But you use existing matter on a established space/time construct. @CRJarvis I know that other traditions have flood stories too. That does not mean that the flood really occurred, but could very likely prove that one tradition borrowed a myth from another. The fully flooding of the earth would never have been a possibility at any time when there were human inhabitants on it. But let's assume that such a flood could occur, it could not have receded (to where?) in such a short period after.
you do know that the earth probably expanded. And the scientist that came up with the fact that north and south America was connected to Europe and Africa. Is the one that said the world is expanding.

I was just suggesting that the authors of the bible picked up some of their myths from other sources. It however is widely accepted that the existence of God is a belief which even devout theologists accept on faith, not on evidence. If my wording betrays me, that is a weakness in my wording. You, however have not refuted anything I said, other than a suggestion about archaeologists

I think they are believing what is written in ancient texts is true and thus trusting in what was written and basing their faith on that. As you can see, CR, I am willing to address Christianity and the issues of god and the Bible from a wide variety of perspectives. As far as I can tell, all of them fail in every conceivable area. It appears to me that education will soon wipe religion from the face of the earth, and that this will be a wonderful moment of freedom and reason. The opposition of Christianity to science, progress, freedom, and reason gave rise to the Dark Ages and I want to see that that will never happen again.

For over 40 years I was an enthusiastic, convinced, committed Christian, a believer in the "infallible, inerrant word of God." My research showed me that I was wrong. I *wanted* to keep believing, but it simply is not true. So why do YOU refuse to address the contradictions and errors? Why is that?

I guess my main problem with this video is I have studied Greek and Hebrew and the whole premise of this video humors me. They didn't have numbers in these alphabets. They used the letters to represent different numbers. I get what you're trying to say and as a Christian I can appreciate what this means, but this video's point seems to be based on false pretenses.

In order to find out if the text of the bible is true, one would have to find alternative sources, not the Bible, to conform what the Bible says. There are no such sources. Other history doesn't support biblical stories. Archeology has never found anything to prove biblical stories.

The fully flooding of the earth would never have been a possibility at any time when there were human inhabitants on it. But let's assume that such a flood could occur, it could not have receded (to where?) in such a short period after.

I was just suggesting that the authors of the bible picked up some of their myths from other sources. It however is widely accepted that the existence of God is a belief which even devout theologists accept on faith, not on evidence. If my wording betrays me, that is a weakness in my wording. @CRJarvis I said not on evidence because devout theologians have stated that God cannot be proved to exist, but He must be accepted as existing only on faith. I think they are believing what is written in ancient texts is true and thus trusting in what was written and basing their faith on that. If the ancient texts somehow could have been certified as true accounts, which back then likely was impossible, then they might have some legitimacy. (cont)

@boootts (cont) If you say that no group of Christians would accept you, then you must be a denomination of one person. Why would you have a belief in Christianity, if it would not be accepted by any of the thousands of different denominations and sects? What would be left for you to believe that some of them would not cover? You would however be accepted in a community of Christians that belong to the denomination that I was part of all my life until in my 40's.

has nothing to do with the conception
of striped or speckled offspring.
The critters are already stated to have been in heat;

but that is not the word used.
if you keep reading he divides the flocks so this would have to be after the birth.
This spelling of this Hebrew word is only used here.

The word "conceive" does NOT mean to give birth.
The old Hebrew word used here is "Yacham",
Strong's Number: 03179,
and means "hot (or "in heat"), to copulate, and to conceive.
Birth comes much later.
And you certainly did trim most carefully.

and if you would look in the Greek also you will see it is 666.
