Theres actually a really simple technique for the interrogation questions, its not supposed to be as hard as you're making it. Open your casebook, look at clues, and look at the suspect on each clue to see if they get nervous, thats how you detect a lie.

I think your main problem when it comes to interrogation is that you focus too much on body language and evidence and not think about context. Not meaning to diss but I think if you consider context too you may achieve a better result.

example, in the Fallen Idol, you doubted Jessica when she tried to remember where she was due to her body language, but consider the context, she's suffering from the shock of being raped, its likely that anything else would be irrelevent to her like location.
