  • CHEERS FROM CHILE!!!! I GROW UP WITH J.M.K.E. !!!!THE SAME HERE DICTATOR SHIT!!!!TEREPERESTROIKAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!BEERS UPPP!!!!

  • When I first time heard it from radio I thought it is finnish band - probably because of their slang and somewhat different intonation. But then I saw it on tv and discovered it is estonian band. My first thought was - "When they are put to jail?" But nevertheless I was so proud that our guys can manage to make so good and revolutionary music. Strange that after that song, Punk came out very quickly. Few months later there was thousands of Punkers.

  • hmm bensiin

  • During that time no one ever played live on TV. You can see that, when the bass player thinks the song ends a bit earlier but realizes, oh shit, I have to play this part one more time, but meanwhile you can still hear the bassline

  • @piritapaadilaenutus haha nice detail... I was small boy back then, but I watched it from video again and again. It really had a big influence later on in my life.

  • This Estonian band came n kicked finnish punks in the ass good and set some new standards. One of the best punk in the world.

  • greetings from brasil

  • they were one of the(for mostly younger ones) most important part of Singing Revolution....

  • The played good at Nosturi yesterday too bad that most of the band has left and the band doesnt look much punk anymore expect Villu ofc =/ but still it's still very honorable to listen soviet union punk when there's not much left \m/

  • Eile keikalla helvetti ku oli hyvä!

  • Rakastan tätä biisiä :-)

  • in that time Estonia was still in USSR? and just know if there was some pro-communist group :)

  • @breizhcatalonia1993 Yeah, Estonia was still in the Soviets, but JMKE was an anti-government band.

  • @TZukiMrAxlson Yes, it was Ajankohtainen Kakkonen. We watched it, I remember clearly.

  • @TZukiMrAxlson Not A-studio - Ajankohtainen kakkonen.

Yle + Suomen valtio - .

  • JMKE is the best!!! To moja ulubiona estońska kapela!!!

  • Moja też, słucham ich już 20 lat.

    Tomi.

    mulle meeldib see laul!!

  • Dinosaurock III vuonna 1989 (21.-23.7.1989) teki lähtemättömän vaikutuksen. Villu ja koko tuonaikainen, yllättävän laaja skaala eestiläisestä punkista (mm. Vennaskond) on ollut lähellä sydäntäni tuosta hetkestä. Ma armastan.

And they playd this while the wall was stil standing..

History might have short memory, but Villu Tamme with his oppinions are not yet history.

  • In Finnish:

Vittu, toi on varmaan yks maailmanhistorian rohkeimmista biiseistä

    Onneksi jätkät selvisivät hengissä.

Muistan kun toi esitettiin aikoinaan suomessa, samalla kun oltiin itse hiljaa neuvostopelossa.

Hyvä Eesti! Teillä oli rohkeutta silloin, toisin kuin meillä!

  • This shit`s got attitude. I live in the country next to estonia, finland that is, and these fuckers still get huge respect here in certain circles. You wanna know punk rock, you gotta know J.M.K.E as well as finnish bastards like KAAOS, RIISTETYT, LAMA, CMX, TERVEET KÄDET, MAHONEITSYT, RATTUS and so on. Check them out, fuckers!

  • IF you want a really shitty translation of this song, go to my profile.

  • Thanks for the pointers! I'm actually studying Finnish because of all the awesome music you guys make.

  • The band JMKE is an Estonian band. They sing in Estionian. This is taken from a Finnish TV programme Ajankohtainen Kakkonen, which was aired over 20 years ago, that's why it has Finnish subtitles.

  • @karuke01 Yes, I know that.

  • Sama hea nagu alati!

    As great as ever!

  • kkobe laul ;) :D

  • they look pretty serious...

  • Yeah... These were difficult times then...

  • we had diffcult times too but we protested many ways jmke was a protest bänd

  • perestroikkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Remember that classic! Brings back the fresh and happy spirit of the time in the end of 80's in the USSR. Go Estonians!

  • :) this is ex-soviet union best band!!! estonian legends... respect from lithuania!

  • Finally I found this band on the net! :D I thought they were called jkml lol

They are one of my favorite bands ever! Love them!

  • Jumalauta tässä on asennetta

  • I still remember when this came from telly, very eyeopening stuff back then. The message is still valid, in more ways than ever.

  • ei piina meid ei sirp ei vasar!

  • legenda perkele

  • villu ruulib ! ! ! :D

  • klass .ica ;)

  • Thanks a bunch for posting this! It's the best Estonian song ever. Classic stuff. I can't believe it's been 20 years ...

  • There are several things in the lyrics which refers to 1987 events - "the plane landing in front of the mausoleum" refers the East Germans Matthias Rust illegal flight to Red Square in Moscow; and "there's not gonna be an empty well in Virumaa" refers to so-called phosphorite war, when Soviet authority wanted to start to mine this commodity in Eastern part of Estonia, but Estonians were quite fiercely against it and there were first large-scale demonstrations against Soviet authorities.

  • For foreigners I would add, that this song was written (by the singer Villu Tamme) even in 1987, which means that the whole perestroika and glasnost (freedom of speech) in the Soviet Union was still at very early stage, which means that very few actually dared to do these kind of lyrcis at that time. The situation in 1987 was different compared to 1989.

  • yeeah

  • tadariiidaraaaa!! PARIM!!!

  • Ohferrety has very beautiful opinion... Thank you. This is almost first song that I remember ever heard, if I dont count WASP:s I wanna be somebody....
