I think that most young males don't have good relationships with their fathers or grandfathers or older males in general, especially in american culture. Alot of fears in adults is a result of traumatic experiences in the past.
I have Social Anxiety and Panic Attacks which makes life very difficult for me,but I do try to overcome my fears by facing it,so hopefully you can try and do the same too.
I do hope the troops return home,because I don't see things improving in the Middle East.

Your title is kind of misleading and your presentation is extremely disorganized. It would be a good idea to take time to focus your thoughts before sitting in front of the camera and talking. It is common for males to express emotional affection through what might appear to be physically violent means. Sometimes males who do not deliver convincing hits are accused of giving each other "lovey taps." It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it a widespread and easily observable phenomena.

Another thing is that my brothers used to beat me up all the time.. eventuly my mom stopped caring about it and just let them beat me up. Like you were saying, you have fear of physical touch because of your grandfather. I think thats why I have fear of that it. I love to get and give hugs but if someone tries to hug me or pat me on the head I always flinch, and my friends joke around alot and say im like a flinchy cat =P

Your grandfather may not have realized that he was being over-boisterous with you...and it's too bad you don't have him around today to talk about WHY he was like this towards you. I think today, as far as most of the school systems, aggressive touch or hitting/smacking isn't allowed anymore. And certainly, in the workplace, it's now actually considered harassment. Western culture is often very "rough". Go to somewhere like India or Arab nations,and good male friends of a young age to much older ages connect with each other by hugging or even walking hand in hand. None of this need to display ego and strength over each other. Western culture can be brutal (at least,that was my experience of growing up in Britain and experiencing a tremendous amount of bullying). I may even go as far as saying that as a race we seem to admire subjucation of others.
