New EVE Online Features coming in January 2011

Man that neocom looks badass. I love how you can remove whatever you want on it. why was it canned? was it ever given a chance?

@trentonx Yeah I loved it too. Not 100% sure why it was canned. I've heard that it had a big exploit potential somewhere and it was a side-project. Dedicating time and resources to it wasn't an option.

But I have also heard that people just didn't like it. I'm not sure why. I'm willing to bet that the same people who moaned about it are the same people who moan about the current neocom.

@DiabeticComaCyborg I added a not on the video (around 10s in) stating that the feature had been cancelled. When I was at Fanfest this year CCP said there will be a completely new UI. It's a complete overhaul, not just the neocom. We seen some screenshots, but no video. No estimate of when it'll be deployed though :(

@EVEChYph3r This Neocom was canned unfortunately. I've just returned from Fanfest where they showed us a very brief screenshot of a completely new interface - not just the neocom. It looks like the UI from the trailers :)

And when I say extreme, it wasn't as much of a harsh miss on the inflection, but more chewing on the english language and spitting it out. I haven't played Eve enough to guestimate your intended words, but "incursion" was the only word close enough when I did an Eve search.

Enunciation is key, so if it is incursion, that's

sion (like "genre" or 'zha zha')

damn! User interface revamp woo! Very cool, I always thought the UI of EVE was one of its worst elements. Glad to see they are moving away from a window and menu driven system.

Iv used the right click drop down menu for the longest of time, along with the selected object, its great to see meaningful shortcuts appearing,.

@Ragemaster9999 yeah, 2011 is hell of a year, in summer we (probably, i don't want to rush it) will be able to walk in stations, i can't even imagine what will be on 2011's winter expansion, probably we get a atmospheric flight, ground station expansion, because Dust should be out and about

@gumpcom lol i appriciate that! I was at the mass test last month and got pwnd at a gate in my raven in about 20 secs by a few frigs and cruisers! so many player wrecks that made the same mistake I knowticed after i was sitting in my pod!

I appriciate the effort to explain the features and some smaller details I had also noticed (like the claxons, man they get annoying!)

Another thing they seem to have added that I haven't seen before is atmospheric shadows from objects.
