The Replacements took the cover to a new level. They showed that it's right for 'real' bands to always continue showing respect for those that came before. They didn't need to keep doing covers, but they never coward from it. They always wore it on their sleeves...
thank you! I've always wanted to see that picture, too... read about it in All Over But the Shouting and how Keith was taking polaroids with everyone in the dressing room the night they opened for him. never had seen the actual shot 'til now!! badass.
Call me biased but I like the Replacement's version. Never liked the song that much..now this is more like it. Glad to lose the backup singers.. enough gospel let's rock.
@11xzxzxz You know, Paul is a rock and roll sponge. And his enthusiasm definitely spread to the others, just listen to Bob riffin' on Keith Richards here, he isn't faking it, he's totally into it. The original meant something, and Paul picks up on that. Not better, just showing how rock can inspire and drive others to new things.
@Steve99jp66 Hey Steve more good points again (I am still away). The best sponges leave no trail and wears a lampshades on his head is still so cool and talented.
All hail Minnesota. The Replacements and the Coen Brothers!
