Yeah, I was bummed to see that Fenix is manufactured in China. Maybe better quality control than other China manufactured electronics, but still not made in USA. So…I’ll keep the dark lit up with my Surefire 6PX Tactical.
I had one-WORST 'serious' torch I've owned. Ignore the hype! Gives a bright but an ill-defined beam and the 'spot to flood' is blasted useless. Plenty of metal in construction but feels cheap and nasty. HORRIBLE squishy switch. An LED Lenser or even a 2D Maglite is a FAR better bet.!
worst promtional video for a flashlight ever....she was talking about not seeing enough stuff aroud with other flashlights, well here is one solution....take the head off of a mini mag-light and it pretty much becomes a lamp...........and i say who REBUILDS an engine with their only light source being a flashlight?
@MoeMonayE Lmao hell yea, last year when my city had a black out all i could think of was those candles iv been wanting to burn lol when we got our power back i watched katt williams and the candle joke was 100x funnier lol
This is a good and decent flashlight for those who don't need Surefire or Fenix. It isn't a bad choice, but for me, i still love fenix and surefire, with many many lumens
I bought a eagletac t20c2 , excellent little light 300 lumens nice tight beam and pure white , a lot better than the 4d mag i use to use , surefire are far too expensive , eagletac are made in china but are guaranteed for life .
Duracell, Fenix are inferior products from China. Either get Surefire or Inova.. they are proven American made lights with 105+ patents. Chinese makers can only copy..
Not a very good light. Spill is too dim on both flood and focused mode. The led and plate is cheaply made at the internals. Everything in the bezel is plastic and light flickers a lot.
You'll be very disappointed at the flashlight once you've removed the bezel--that's if you can remove it without twisting off the wires. Just make sure you point the bezel downwards while trying to remove it.
Tiresius in candlepowerforum has a few pictures of it unassembled.
duracell daylite flashlights dont get any good lux readings vs led lenser... no good spot... a 1AA led lenser t5/p5 will out throw them 2-3times... so duracells focus dont realy work... it just a wide beam flashlight that look like a focus flashlight... 1200-1500lux is all you get at 1m... my 2AA fenix tk20 have 6350lux and no focus...
I own the Daylite 2AA light and it is a great flashlight, the build quality really surprised me. A nice plus is that it produces a lot of light for something that uses run-of-the-mill alkaline batteries! Plus, the laser-etched Duracell logo and Copper-Top tail cap are really nice-looking. I am 100% satisfied. =)
@dvi47 Fenix are prettey expensive but there are much better lights out there at about a $30 price range like the Maglite XL50 or the 2d cell led Maglite. And Daylite optics technology is copied from Led Lenser. Duracell just modified it so they can use the same technology without patent disputes but the same idea.
@jbeatles99 also the best flashlight for the money same price as Daylite. Get the Fenix e21 $34 its 150 lumens runs on 2aa and its regulated unlike Duracell which means you will get constant brightness until the battery is drained also I never had black spots on my Fenix this is a scam
@HyperlightMedia A $34 Fenix E21 outperforms Every duracell light I just got my duracell today and it suck I completely regret getting it and the beam is much worse than my 3d led mag
I love these. I have Surefires and streamlights... they're great and all, but this cost me half the tag of those. I just need to find someone who sells the CR123 round here.
This is a very good flashlight. I have several Surefire and Streamlights, and while they're good, this flashlight cost me half as much and works just fine. Now I need to find one of the CR123 models.
This is an awesome flashlight. Just look at all the positive reviews - google is your best friend. Duracell is bringing LED technology to the mass market, and gonna sell a zillion of these lights.
cool. check out this quick to convert tv remote control led flashlight. simply remove the infra red led and solder in place a ultrabright led - green is recommended for better efficiency.
I got one of these, it's my new favorite flashlight -- no thanks to the hype in this unconvincing commercial. The light is bright, solid, nicely finished, and uses common AA batteries which is a big plus for me. The flood-to-spot feature, however, is nearly useless, as the adjustment range is too limited. The switch is in the tail cap, which is where I like it, but it's a bit small and stiff. Good product, pretty sad video.
Want a comparison between this and Fenix L2D CE Q5. We'll see if you feel so big after that. And wtf, you didn't even tell us which flashlight you compared it to...
Its sad Duracell would use graphics and big words in an attempt to mis-lead consumers to buy their poor design. So called advertising hype! There are other makers out there making better LED flashlights who do not resort to this type of tactic.
how many Duracell Flashlights have you seen come out,compared to Energziers Flashlights?
Low for Duracell yes,but the key reason is they come out with stuff that isn't gonna break and they test it themselfs before throughing it on the market. Energizer seems to just make crap and toss it onto the market then discounting it later on.
So duracell puts alot of research and such into their stuff,just like their batteries.
Unlike Energizer that places their batteries surely at the top more power and longer last,but their power drains fastly when not used,as Duracell holds 75% of it's power when not in used and has good amount of life time.
my dad still has 2Duracell AA's from like 3years ago in a Maglite AA,and it's still works 100% :O. for my Same maglite that i had 2 Energizer's in it, barely used. in 4days the batteries were at 25% of life and lowering.
How about a real comparison. I didn't like that you guys used graphics to show the potential differences between spot and spread beams. Show the actual beam in a REAL test. I have used both LED and traditional bulb type flashlights. There is a difference, show it.

Duracell is great for people who don't need $40+ lights. However if you want better (but pricier) get Maglites or Surefires.

Maglite = Good
Duracell = Better (Best Value for money)
Surefire = Best.
P.s Don't get Fenix, it's a Chinese light.
