Just about every japanese civilian would have been fighting with bamboo pikes, stones and other ancient weapons against a large american force. 2. Gen's mother died in 1993 rather than 1948
3. Gen's real name is keiji nakazawa
4. All those kids he met in this movie were made up

@johnyRidin I agree, but know that the man who recalled the first movie's events(not sure about this one) puts the blame on both the Americans who dropped the bomb, but even moreso on the Japanese government who was far too stubborn to move until a second bomb was dropped. I kind of agree...Still, I would be honored, and we would all be privelaged to see the day war was done for good.

I know its gross, but its a really good reflection on what really happened. They didn't have the intention to gross out, if so they would have shown the family members burn to death. I have never seen an animated film so identical to real life.(Besides the huge heads lol) I give the last movie 10 or 10. I am going to watch this one now.

@Eekolu I would go on to say people in general were awful back then (ie holocaust, nanking rapes, a-bombs, internment camps). Unfortunately awful things still happen today, but I think for the most part people are becoming less awful, at least in the US, Europe, and East Asia.

@jangbir Sir, while I can indeed agree that Iraq is a place that we certainly should not have invaded, and all we have reaped from it are the lives of innocents, and that Afghanistan is a war not worth being in, as we cannot change the social order, I do not agree that any action we have in Libya is against innocent people, but rather the ruling dictatorship. Nor have we fought against Iraq for oil for around 20 years, and there is no legal opium trade in the US.

The level of heat that the bomb caused caused that to happen. Those who werent exposed to sunlight directly were either killed by the sheer force of the shockwave, or killed later on by radiation poisoning.
