@MeleeSonic3200 The Zool track is slightly different, a bit slower and fits the Zool universe perfectly. The Zool demo is much better than the final game: no endlessly respawning enemies, no slowdowns and .. that special music.
I went on holiday to Wales with some mates a few years back, when I got home I found my sister had done a no punches pulled spring clean, no problem I thought until I noticed a big empty space where my Amiga 500 used to be. Turns out she'd thought coz I hadn't played on it for a year or two she would dump it and the 200 games I had in the local skip!!!!! Needless to say that even after the 4 years since she did this I'm still not speaking to her. BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's up with the sound quality in this video, this is nowhere close to what it really sounds like. Check watch v=nTz5iwmtkrs starting from 1:19 to get some idea. It's pretty close as far as I can go from memory.
autotrader says the Lotus Elan and Esprit are dirt cheap now. If you played this it's what you wanted. Only the programmers could have afforded one when they were new.
3 and six are the best tracks ^^ At least those are the ones i remember most clearly :) I feel like a 10 year old again :) thx for the great upload mate ^^
haha i remember playing Lotus 3 rather than Jaguar X220, just because Lotus 3 had the ownage music in it! Back then i was too stupid to know the difference of gameplay between the two games, but i remember the music from Lotus kicked ass! :)
I'm trying to compare the PC sound with the Amiga. And I can't help but thinking that the Amiga has a slightly better sound quality. (Of course on the PC you only need the proper hardware and having it set up properly) Does anyone agree, or am I just hearing something I wanna hear?
Dude... MODs (Amiga) and MIDI (PC) are Synthetic music. They have no sound quality. Only sample quality, you know... a good composition with bad instrumentation...
I totally forgot track 6, its the 2nd most iconic catchy track after track 3. These themes are amazing, you can so tell they came from the time of illegal raves and ecstacy lol
my bad, i just checked it out, and yes, in her manua l i can see no MIDI interface.
But truth is it was so similar it confused me. Just see the PAULA's Specifications on user's manual Appendix and you'll understand what i mean. Again, my bad, Aiga is more awesome than i said.
And it actually can do near-CD QUALITY 14-BIT sound (Signal to Noise Ratio of 84 Decibels instead of a bit noisy and distorted 48 DB of 8-bit sound) by sacraficing the number of sound channels from 4 to 2, of course still stereo.
What is the most fabulous attribute of the Amiga sound system is that it can do sound with sample rate up to cca 28 Khz (CD quality is 44.1 Khz, if you have a recording with a certain sample rate then your recording can capture sounds of frequency of 1/2 of its sample rate (max. 14 Khz sound, so it can capture sounds as high frequency as the mosquito buzz, normal FM radio can transmit sounds up to 11 Khz) WITHOUT ANY CPU WORK and much higher sample rates if you use the CPU to aid the s.chip.
Yes, well i rest my case, this works for me. What i wanted to tell was how AWESOME Amiga was back then. I wasn't trying to play it big shot here or sth. You are better on telling about her sound abilities, again, my bad, YES, PAULA WASN'T MIDI, so yes, i rest my case.
it is a tiny bit similiar to MIDI in that Amiga music is usually done in the tracked MOD format that takes instrument samples and then glues them together and repeat the same sample because there is noneed to record the same sound repeatedly and it extremely saves space making it fit on 800 KB floppies

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let me introduce you,
The Queen of all the Home Computers....
COMMODORE AMIGA 500!
4 channel - stereo MIDI makes what you hear.
With an archtecture (hardware) similar to NEW machines.
Different microchips for different tasks.
RINGS ANY BELLS?
ShadowDreadblade 3 years ago 6
MIDI?not crappy "MIDI", you can do normal tracked sample music on Amiga, MIDI has fixed samples
Amiga does not support MIDI as it is much crappier.
AgainstMadness 3 years ago 4
Yes indeed, but if i will say that Amiga was capable of sampling nobody will believe me dude.
But yes you are right.
It has MIDI though... 4 channel stereo.
And of course it has NOTHING to do with PC MIDI.
ShadowDreadblade 3 years ago 2
why do you lie because nobody will belive you?
if someone is moronic enough to not do a 5 second google search or do a chceck at wikipedia then he is not worthy your attention
and why should nobody belive you?I tought it is common knowledge amongst old computer geeks that amiga does full sampling
and this is not MIDI, Amiga had no MIDI AFAIK
some parts might sound like MIDI because of disk space limitations
AgainstMadness 3 years ago
it is a tiny bit similiar to MIDI in that Amiga music is usually done in the tracked MOD format that takes instrument samples and then glues them together and repeat the same sample because there is noneed to record the same sound repeatedly and it extremely saves space making it fit on 800 KB floppies
AgainstMadness 3 years ago 3
