  • i think i want to put my saxophone down and never pick it up ever again after watching this video sarcastically...wow this is AMAZING!!!

  • The first cadenza is almost note for note what is written in the score. The second cadenza is just paganini, which really is out of character for this work. You were a great saxophonist for your age, but I think calling this your "own" cadenzas is really a stretch since you played what was in the score, and then just played a different piece for the second one. Still, I wish my students played this well. Back to teaching scales...

  • First paganini and demersseman doesn fit so well at the second candenze that much :S but still great work, second your dynamic is not very improved in this peace your tune is ok but still this is one of the greatest performans on youtube i listen :D

  • Where did you get the sheet music for this? I would like to do this piece for solo and ensemble!

  • oh my god! play slower, but very cool condensas

  • your high notes sound very wierd, great technic but i miss more volume in your tone. good work anyway. :)

  • you are a phenomenal classical player.

i was never much at classical. i prefer playing jazz ;]

but i love listening to both.

    thank you for this

  • that was great, I really want to try and play that now, but you're alot better than I am. wow. that was a nice refreshing song to listen to.

  • how old are you?

  • On this video I'm 17 yrs old, now 18, and I'm improuved a lot in that time...

  • are you playing with a mute? it will help you're low register sound less blatty on the harsher attacks.

good performance overall. the improvisation seemed a little excessive. dont sacrifice melodic creativity and style for fast notes. faster does not mean better.

    bravo

  • good job

  • I have a question. In the beginning, since the sax play the theme the dynamic is p(piano), after the semiquavers when the little theme again you play, the dynamic is mf(medio forte)?

  • Let me say that it's my interpretation of this piece , so I really don't look to the dynamics , and do my own dynamics , just like I do my cadenzas in stead of the ones that are written...

  • metso forte you mean?

  • mezzo

  • mezzo forte = medium loud

    :-)

  • damn genius

  • Vive toi ;)

    Emerick

  • Bravo!!!!!

  • Very nicely done! I enjoyed your playing very much.

  • Prachtige muziek neefke.

  • great job! i think i like this better than Ashu's version!he plays it too rubato

  • disagree

  • wow can i have a copy of the scores for these?

  • Shure, just go to the music shop...

  • Pretty nice, good tech.

I agree with Arctus about the waltz.

The second cadenza indeed doesn't fit

this piece. I think it's one of the

    Paganini Caprices, isn't it ? ;)

    Good job in the Whole

  • Indeed , it's one of the paganini caprices , and this one is arranged by J-M Londeix.

    Greets , Vincent

  • Thanks for uploading this video! You're a great player: Amazing technique and very nice tone!

But, I didn't like the parts you changed: The first cadenza was ok, but why didn't you just play it as written? In my opinion the waltz was quite a bit too fast ... play it slower and add more music to it. The second cadenza was horrible, it didn't fit into the piece at all (great technique though ..)

This is just my opinion, don't take it as an insult please ;) Keep playing!

  • Wow, more respect from the Netherlands to you. I know the difficulty of this piece of art from Demersseman. Nice performance!

  • wow. very very very nice paganini part you played. it sounded perfect. u have perfect technique but a tad more vibrato could make you better

  • Magnificent! Playing this 'pièce-de-force' all by heart. I already knew Beveren (Belgium) has a fabulous playing symphonic band, but it has sophisticated solists as well! Of all Demersseman-fantasies on YouTube this is my most favourite. The real way of performing by a Belgian musician on a real Belgian instrument! Congratulations Vincent! By: Gerard Posch from the Netherlands (saxophone-player & arranger for symphonic bands).
