It's been THAT LONG!?It seems like it was just YESTERDAY when I heard the news. I was lookin around for some of his fights on the web,& I came across a REALLY nice&CLASSY(from aCABLE NEWSnetwork!) tribute by Mike Straka,&it brought back the whole feeling. When people like Jerry Garcia &Tupac died,I didn't get people being SO FREAKED OUT over a celeb. they never knew?
When Evan died I wasn't TORN UP,but it DID help me understand:RIP Evan.we remember what u said;what u DID;who u were. Thanx; RIP.
One of my favorite fighters of all time, Tanner you were incredible, with the true heart of a champion, you are the man behind the inspiration, you will forever live on in me. I see you on the other side brother...
fascinating. here after searching on my birthday + year. Evan died 8 Sep 2008. and love of my life (NOT a figure of speech) died 08 Sep 2009. numbers hey? he too was laughed at by family and friends for persuing his passions (mountain bike riding in stead of "growing up") i think many people are confronted by those who choose to be true to their passion - the mocking and resentment a product of their inability to follow their own hearts

wow am i a loser, i feel stupid cuz i am a fan of MMA but this is the first time hearing about tanner. he was a good fighter, tough as hell and scrappy. damn thats sad for real. RIP evan tanner
i was actual at a ufc event at an autograph signing with my brother. We saw Evan walking through the casino and I kept our place in line and my brother went over and talked to evan. My brother had nothing but great things to say about his brief encounter with Evan and part of me wishes I had that chance. RIP Evan
By waching him fight you'd think he was a brutal fucking ass.... but he is one of the most soft spoken, nicest people you'd ever meet. Don't judge a book by it's cover. We love and miss you Evan.
whats goin on with all the disrespectful comments,to sit and think ov something like those comments is sad,hav any ov the disrespectful guys been in a cage and fought?..........well i doubt it cos no true fighter would make such low remarks
I had never heard of him till I read an article of his life and death in Men's Journal. I am reading about him all over the net. He was a mans man what many of us aspire to be. We are adventurer's at heart and get so wrapped up in life and he lived it to the fullest but he had demons that haunted him.
Tanner was one of those people that believed that living life on the edge was the best way to live. If you take chances that put you on the brink of death you walk away with a more fulfilled feeling for life. He had a warrior spirit. R.I.P.
thank you so much for the vid man, i truly look up to this guy. this is corny, but he really is a hero to me, and i feel sad every time i think about him not fighting anymore.
Evan was such a great man. I always felt the way he talked about for the 37 yrs of my life...he just made it more prominent with what he says (after death).
Great man in life....missed and WISE in (death). Love and miss ya Evan..someday bro..
Wow...I didn't realise Evan had died as I've been out of the world for a month...really tragic...great fighter who always had a 'lost' look in his eyes, like there was something missing in his life...nice vid

R.I.P Evan tanner.. you'll never be forgotten bud ):
Heyy Wait a minute, i was like you, talking shitt without real sense, your brother, father, or any love one could be the next, so.........watch your words.
no one will ever replace him and he will be a legend forever and ever.i don't care if anybody holds the belt now he will be the middle weight champion forever in my eyes.he always will be the best and he could fight the best fighter in the world but he would stay and fight to the end prove he was the true gladiator.he was a perfect individual and he will always be remembered.
we can remember evan as a man who loved to live life to the fullest and belived in the power of life.he loved what he did and did what he loved.evan tanner was a guene, out going, respectful, nice, and a great inspiration.he was a free spirit and he loved the simple things in life and he was a adventures and a simple man.he was a person who you could love even if you didn't know him.he was the best fighter there will ever be and nobody can be a champoin like evan tanner he fought.i love you evan rip
holy fuck ive just woke up this morning to find out on youtube that tanner has passed! god i cant believe it! was it an accident? i cant believe it, i watched his last ufc fight live, he was a true warrior and legend! R.I.P
Evan was an unreal person. Lived life to the fullest every day of his life. I related to him on so many levels. I cant say I have ever respected anyone more that Evan. Just an awesome person. The world is somehow smaller without him. "everybody stumbles along the way" (Evans words) .....What true words!.
Great man thats missed everyday!
See you one day Evan. 1971-2008 R.I.P best "mans man to ever live!"
Very nice tribute. Seems like such an awesome guy. A true warrior spirit, loved adventure, and being a true original. What a loss the world just suffered, not to mention MMA. RIP Evan, Godspeed.
He died doing what he loved, seeking adventure. I looked up to him more as a person than as a fighter, as a person is who we are and fighting is just what we do, though it is in us, it is not who we truly are. This video was quite touching. RIP Evan, You will never be truly dead!
dayum ...... that sucks man r.i.p fucked up way to pass away god rest his soul , still had alot in him to fight ! what i liked about him he changes his appearance when he goes to fight ... just found out yesterday watching the ufc fight on spike ...
Evan, you were a mans man and I'm proud to have looked up to you for the past 9 years as an mma fan/amateur fighter. Very well rounded, even at the start of your career. I loved how you lived your life outside the ring, living the good life. You have nothing to regret, you worked for everything you had.
Evan Tanner was a true MAN in every sense of the word. No phoney eyeballing of oppenents, no posturing or mocking stricken oppenents (are you listening Tito?), just honest combat and dignity in defeat as well as victory. He had integrity and honesty in a brutal world. Rest In Peace Evan, yours was a life lived to the fullest. Something that the people that abuse you on here will never experience or understand
you'll always be a champ in everyones heart and soul, your words will live forever long after your stories been told, a final trip with the free spirits towards the gates of gold, you believed in the power of one, say hi to everyone...
2 or 3 years of that man's life packed more than most people's entire lifetime.I doubt he died with any regrets, and that's the only standard of a life lived to the fullest.R.I.P E.T
What a loss ,such a good guy even in defeat he stil looked like he had enjoyed it .He was one of the first fighters i had watched in UFC ,and got me hooked. We love UFC in britain , and Evan was one of our favourites ,what a warrior, what a man .Disregard the scum comments on this website because true fans know how good Evan was .UFC is a poorer sport this week for the loss.Rest in peace Evan ,thanks for the memories .
I just found out an I'm still in shock cause Evan Tanner was such a great fighter I know his lost fight he lost but I was looking forward to watching him bounce back an get the win in his next fight. R.I.P Evan Tanner you will be missed.
Win or lose alwayz one of my favorite fighters. Evan was a classy and humble man who lived life exactly like he wanted. As far as being an alcoholic. To anybody who degrades the man for conquering his demons..(you obviously have far to much chlorine in your gene-pool SO FUCK OFF) RIP Evan thanx for the great fights youv'e given us..
What a great tribute video,And bonehead08 why dont you show a little class and have some compassion for people, thats a cruel shot to take on someone who has passed away.
We may never understand the reasons why people do the things they do, but it isnt our place to anyway, it only matters that what they did mattered to them somehow. Thank you Evan Tanner for what you did for the sport of MMA, you were one of the original athletes who made the sport what it is today. What you did only proved that we as men will always be wild at heart and adventure seeking, and when that part of us no longer exists, there is no use living, RIP.
I have the upmost respect for Evan, and this is truly a tragedy, but what he did and his ill ability to plan was really, really stupid. It was almost as if he wanted to go (death wish).
lets look at this shall we one you will never have to worry about that because you will never be to evan's level and second he must be the only one who had demon's in his past and as far as ruining his career why did dana bring him back after he dealt with his problems ? but enough of this I am not gonna waste my energy on someone who I am guessing has never stepped in a cage and most likely never will they just want to judge those who do
kinda harsh bonesaw dont you think could it be envy on your part that you will never do half of what he has done in his 37 year's before you knock someone maybe you should know a little something about there life
wow asshole even if you didnt like the guy you should'nt talk shit to anyone that just passed away except if he was evil but he was a great guy, this is why 12 year olds should'nt be on youtube
why say something like that, if some one died in ur family and someone said a fucking shit thing like u just said u wouldnt be happy would ya, keep ur opinions to urself
Uh,yeah. Pretty clever mirror of my own joke bitch. Not! All that daddy cum in your mouth must be distrupting your creative flow. Listen,it isn't too late...you can stop the cycle of abuse. Next time he forces himself on you just look at him with your watery, shimmering eyes and with your shaky, cracking, cum gurgling bitch-ass voice say "Daddy, please stop. It hurts".
Gosh, I'm still so sad about this. He was a great fighter and seemed like an absolutely wonderful person who was an inspiration for living life to the fullest and caring about what the truly important things in life are. Heavy hearts for everyone for sure. RIP Evan.
haha, Evan lived life to the fullest, his way, alot like my cousin Colby Salcido, who died a day before Evan, who was also from Amarillo, TX just like Tanner, they were both free spirits, did what they wanted to when they wanted to do it...loved the outdoors, and were good men! I do not feel sorry for them because they have lived their life to the fullest and now are in a better place then we are. RIP Evan Tanner and Colby Salcido
I've heard this song so many times checking Evan's myspace that it will forever be linked to him. I used to read his blogs all the time and know the stories behind those picture. It really feels like I've lost an old friend. Its a shame most of the newer fans will only know Evan from Spike, or from his death.
My hat is off to ya medicenmon. This is a great tribute video to Evan. I never met the man before but was a fan. This video shows alot about the 'MAN' that was a fighter. I appreciate the fact that he as well as everyone else that is a 'STAR MMA FIGHTER' is down to earth and I can relate to him in some small ways. I can only imagine the demons he faced and delt with head on. I prey for him and his family.
It's been THAT LONG!?It seems like it was just YESTERDAY when I heard the news.

1BadMopho 3 years ago
lets look at this shall we one you will never have to worry about that because you will never be to evan's level and second he must be the only one who had demon's in his past and as far as ruining his career why did dana bring him back after he dealt with his problems ? but enough of this I am not gonna waste my energy on someone who I am guessing has never stepped in a cage and most likely never will they just want to judge those who do

kinda harsh bonesaw dont you think could it be envy on your part that you will never do half of what he has done in his 37 year's before you knock someone maybe you should know a little something about there life

RIP Evan.
LP1PAPERCUT 3 years ago
haha, Evan lived life to the fullest, his way, alot like my cousin Colby Salcido, who died a day before Evan, who was also from Amarillo, TX just like Tanner, they were both free spirits, did what they wanted to when they wanted to do it...loved the outdoors, and were good men!
