the only problem with windows 7 is everything is so messy. vista wasnt like that and xp i miss :( but for some reason mac os x doesnt seem messy

This is very funny. First of all this benchmark really has no real impact on the system unless its two thousand or more and the reason the scrollbar wasn't as responsive was because of the "moving background" which puts pressure on the cpu whereas windows 7 did not have a moving background on the desktop.

Sp2 has basically resolved most if not all of the issues with vista. Maybe an old video but its a very bias video...

Both operating systems are good as from today.

windows 7 and Vista aren't all that different at the core. 7 just uses some slightly different techniques to run programs and such and it feels more responsive because of that. PCWorld and others did testing a few times on this. Also you can tweak your OS to make it do what you want it to, just people are too lazy to and then complain when it isn't doing what they want it to (like the 'slow' start menu) I'm far from a power user and yet I've had Zero problems with vista.

Windows Vista has the same speed (only more ram need) as 7 on my Core i5 Laptop - I think it really depends on your system, on some 7 is faster, on some Vista.

Windows 7 runs on my Core2Duo machine just fine, and vista as crap....

With a PC the limits are endless, but with a Mac it's a little more restricted since you can really only buy their computers from Apple, unless you build them. I tried just opening up my all programs and the menu just froze...it is now taking up half of my screen. Then, my taskbar froze, then my gadgets, then my internet explorer, managed to minimize it, then, the entire computer froze...when vista, or at least mine, has never ever done so....yeah 7 rocks. i have an all cpu meter, giving me ideas on my cpu use on 2 cores and my ram, my cores usually go about 5-15% when doing nothing....be quite frank, my vista is much better.

Windows 7 SUCKS. It works great but after about two months it starts locking up so bad you have to unplug the computer (all other standard ways to undo the lock out fails). I had to reload Windows 7 TWICE, and about a month later-same problem. So I'm back to windows VISTA. It at least is more stable. Microsux ripped me off.

What the fuck all do you have on your computer? That's why Vista is lagging, it takes up too much disk space in the first place. Windows 7 is another good Windows OS like Xp. That's just your copy of Windows 7 or your computer. Every computer I have Windows 7 on is fast, snappy and responsive. I have Windows 7 on a 10mb graphics card and 512mb, it works very fast and everything shows up.
