very nicely done, especially for not havin any sheet music for it. and though i'm not a southerner, do get a lil tired of people who automatically equate confederate flag w/ racist (think the "white supremist flag" would be more likely the Nazi flag. Little know fact Gen Lee was against slavery and Gen Grant owned slaves. Chew on those facts and stop the hate mongering.

First of all, that is not the Confederate flag, it was the Georgia State flag. Also, The Confederate flag does not represent white supremacy in itself. The flag was flown as a symbol of the Confederate States of America as a country. Just because the Confederates condoned slavery does not mean that the flag symbolizes white supremacy. Get your facts straight.

You know what....I really hate people who don't know the real history of their damn country. The confederate flag is tied to white supremacy about as much as the Swastika was created by the Nazi regime. The north had slaves too, the democratic party during that time were the ones for slavery and the republicans against it. But the war wasn't even fought because of slavery. It was about state powers, money. and land acquisition. Nothing more...nothing less. That flag is just as American.

@whynotzoidburg you're like half right, but to say the civil war wasn't fought over slavery is insane, southern plantation owners wanted to move west and take their slaves with them, Republicans at the time didn't want any new states or territories to allow slavery. If slavery wasn't an issue for the CSA's cause why did they put a clause in the constitution saying it could never be made illegal (Section 1 Article 9:4)? What you are correct about is that northern states did have slaves...

@whynotzoidburg no only that Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland or Delaware were not required by the Emancipation Proclamation to free their slaves because they remained in the Union, nor where Tennessee and parts of Virginia...basically if you were under Union control at the time, you got to keep your slaves...

@slinky8377 The reason they made that clause was simply monetary reasons. The south was broke and slavery was it main work force. Without the slaves they would be even more broke. They didn't want to keep slavery because they were supremacists, they wanted to keep and expand slavery for monetary reason only.

General Lee fought for the CSA because he couldn't take up arms against his home state, not because he endorsed slavery. It's AMERICAN, and at a time when Muslims and Illegals from all over are trying to take over our country, I am more comforted by that flag than any of the others (except the American, of course).
