One has to wonder, WTF happened to music? Why can't we have bands like this anymore? JLT was one of the best singers from that era, IMO. Now it's all autotune crap. What a shame.
So while Ronnie James Dio was with Sabbath, doing The Mob Rules/Live eviL tour, Rainbow without him had become Foreigner II. Seriously, this song is in the same key and progression as "Waiting For a Girl Like You".
I love this. My oldest bro used to play Deep Purple and Rainbow when I was very young. I loved Rainbow & then by 20 I was into Malmsteen's - Rising Force. I only realised that Joe Turner sang for both. I loved him in Rainbow and I love him in Malmsteen. He's awesome. I love this kind of music. Missed them.
Still sounds as good as it did when I first heard this on KLOS and KMET in Los Angeles. I freakin' loved growing up in LA during the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s. So much great music.
@Klingonmastr He's talking about ronnie james dio, the former lead singer and harpist from a band called Elf. Dio passed on recently from a bout with eating too much peperoni pizza which gave dio stomach cancer. Pizza wasdio's weakness, dude never touched a drug or alcohol. Now go sit in the corner with your dunce-cap on Trekkie.
@Klingonmastr Ron Regan was the worst until George W Bush and his human right abuses! Reagan funded terrorism by funding the Contras in Central America, the Contra's raped women, kidnapped people held them for ransom and killed them when the ransom was paid. Congress stopped funding them when they learned of those practices Reagan sent them money he had stolen from the Iranians. I joined the military to help oppressed people not steal their oil and for that I lost a leg by an IED.
@Jointfitter Republicans F up everything. The best yrs. of my adult life were under the Clinton administration. When he left office we had a surplus. By 911 George W had already pissed away.
Actually Clinton said the word 'Recession' several times during his farewell address. He acknowledged that the Recession was coming. It was in its early stages when he left.
@youbestbequiet Glad you say that, because he is in Over The Rainbow with Ritchie's son Jurgen(?) and Bobby Rondinelli. I saw the, in Montrose, New York at few months ago, and they did all the classics, even Bonnet and Dio stuff.
@sherryalmodovar It believe that they have only done shows in New York, Jersey area. They were an opening act for J Geils ( not as part of the J Geils Band ). I am 59 and have followed Rainbow since their inception, and was blessed to see them again.
The '80s had the best music, I use the term 'music' loosely, and 'music' nowadays is just certifiably insane, it's just aweful, except when bands come back like when The Who put that awesome show on at the superbowl.
@willie0319 I agree. Most of the so called music out there now is horrible. There are a few good bands now, but they do not even compare to the older bands like Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, etc. Long live the 60s to early 90s.
my mum told me "never trust or listen to a band that has the same name as a dodgy 70's kids programme".........wise words, I turned to Motorhead and never looked back.......and never will.
top band top song but watch from 29 seconds when he sings bout you and me and whats in between watch his mouth id forgot he did that piss funny but i really do like these power is my favorite
Joe Lynn Turner has to be one of the most underrated lead singers of all time. Fantastic voice and yet no repect. Laugh it up all you want, but you have to admit he has a great voice. My vote for the most underrated lead singer of a great hard rock band of all time. What do you say we compile a list? Richie Medlocke of Blackfoot, now Lynard Skynard, would get my second vote. Chime in amigos...
