I disagree !! He is not there to play guitar. He is there to sing.Besides i think he can put more emotion on the song when he concetrated on the song !! For sure he knows how to play guitar.
Love George Strait, one of the best the business has ever produced, it always bothered me though that after all this time the guy still uses the guitar as a prop. You would think he would know how to play it by now, I always see it strapped on but never see him play it
No offence but I can see you're not a true George Strait fan because if you were you would know what George Sounds like. That was no impersonation. No impersonation is as good as George Strait himself.
Leave it to George -- the wave at 1:40 was classy -- pure and simple -- just like the man himself. Pure country and simply talented. (Oh, he also looks great in his blue jeans, too!)
I've always found this song a little amusing. It's like the fishing song by Brad Paisley...it just has a sadder tone. The sentiment is the same. The guy is way more concerned about getting to another rodeo than losing his lady.
no, no, no...you miss the point of the song...the guy isn't worried about getting back to the rodeo...he is using that as a way to exit from her life...
I love this song! I love it in the end at his concerts because they make the lights really dim and you can only see his cowboy silhouette. Thanks for sharing!
This song gives me goose bumps. The story is so sad yet the song is so beautiful.

I agree with tlcarroll, the wave was class.

the wave with his right hand at 1:40 proves he is human...not just a country hit producing machine
