  • Great pair... just years after I watch it last time in tv. Sooo sad time has passed so fast

  • I watched this like 15 times before going on with the episode. And after that, I saw it 15 more times.

  • Thumbs up if Star Trek: Voyager brought you here olollolololololo

  • @Taupod Trolls off the starboard bow, cap'n!

  • Good morning Sunshine, you are my only compatible partner :)) I love you baby!!!

  • doctor and seven were by far the best and most interesting characters on this show.. this was a great episode as well

  • This is sped up just a bit, 7's voice is higher pitched than it should be.

  • @Alaskaslim I'm not the only one who noticed?? It's only maybe a quartertone off, but I could definitely hear it.

  • They looked tall on that show, but in real life they are not. About 5'8 tops both. I always thought they were 6'1 or something. Camera and tricks. Nice voice.

  • I love them both together and the song they are singing is also beautiful..

  • My favourite bit is at 2:52 Major props to Picardo for pulling that face and conveying all the emotion of the "Oh poo. I'm in trouble." look that EVERY bloke knows once he has been surprisingly smitten by a girl out of the blue in a way he didn't expect.

  • :-)

  • Very talented actors. Miss quality TV shows like Voyager.

  • what season is this episode in ??

  • best version of this song.

they sing it bettter than any1else

  • you know with ever direction I thought this scene was gonna go. Them singing was Defo was not one of them and I was convinced they belonged together. The way the doc loses himself while she's singing and the way she bonds and can be her human self around him!!

  • I wish you could give multiple thumbs up, because this video defintely deserves it. Every other moment is just better than the next. The acting and writing were really brilliant in this scene. Man, this was such a good episode.

  • 1:52 for a split second you can see his heart (erm... hard drive?) Melt a little as he watched her, butterflies as he studied how beautiful she was.

    Shame on you directors.

  • I must agree with statement of zorokism. They should have made a couple of the doctor and seven. I dont even know how they came with the sudden plotline which indicated seven had a relationship with chakotay.

Seven and the doctor are my favorite characters of the show they kept me going. Seven ignorance of human habits and the doc's genuine compassion and funny remarks were hilarious to say the least.

  • @Berstalin

What I personally disliked the most about them pairing Seven with Chakotay was that in the future, Seven is dead, and the Doctor doesn't even seem affected. You'd think that of all the characters who would be affected by her death, the Doctor would be the one who took it the hardest because how much he loved her. But no...

  • These two need to duet. They both have amazing voices.

  • I love how no one dislike this video its so AMAZING!!! and i like they sing it the best

  • 1:17

    wow, that was dark.

  • i like the moment he falls in love <3

  • nawwwwwwww thats just too cute xD

  • Hmmm I only like this because I am a Star Trek fan but nether-the-less Voyager had some really irritating characters i.e. Neelix (I do not know how even a Vulcan could tolerate him), Chakotay what an absolute bore, 7 of 9 - who's intelligence rather like Crusher yes and I know borg superiority bla bla but still what a smart arse, Kim can't imagine him being anything other than a lower deck officer I couldn't take him seriously, Paris another Neelix, Kes - Pointless, the half breed engineer Crap!

  • "How much I love you"

  • after this i loved hearing her sing on the show!

  • What a beautiful voice she has ♥♥

  • so i have to watch the seven seasons on dvd every year in germany. couldn't know that voyager become finally my favorite star trek series. and of course this is one of my alltime favorite scenes, beneath all the other funny scenes with seven and the doc. great acting and great voices :)

  • VOYAGER: The most human and wonderful of the STAR TREK series...

  • @robapr1 Iunno, there are some moments in Next Generation that really get me...

  • @robapr1 I still enjoy the original the best. I love voyager, but TOS is my favorite :)

  • Voyager was alright with Kes, but the programme got better when Seven came in. Beautiful voice Jeri has!

  • i dont' know if she has any recordings but she should, i could see her singing hi lilly hi lilly hi low

  • seven became even awesome'er in my eyes after i saw this

  • One of my favourite scenes. Until I first heard this some years ago, I didn't know Ms Ryan could sing!

  • lol y press the button when the doctor was singing!...

  • @Swampje

Is it wrong that merely reading that comment gave me wood?

  • LOL at seven's face from 2:13 on 'till they start singing XD

  • BTW, what ep is this from?

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins 5x22 "Someone to Watch Over Me"

  • This makes me smile =)

  • One of the best moments in the whole series - two amazoing voices, two completely "uncommon people" but one soul....

  • it was so much more beautiful when i saw it first....now the beauty seems to haave diminished

  • LOVE IT! my favorite scene in the whole series!

  • take that cheese to the sickbay! sorry I have to say that :P

  • 'Resonance' is NOT futile!

  • I dislike irrelevant conversations.

    HAHAHA

  • if Janeway saw this, she would have corrupted the doctor's program

  • Don't you love the look in the doctor's eyes when he sings "how much I love you" towards the end.

  • I really liked this episode, especially this scene. I could really relate to the Doctor at the end of the episode...I wish they had expounded on this more. Anohter episode I would have liked to see expanded was "Real Life."

  • I love it! I grew up with Star Trek and I always LOVED and STILL LOVE ST Voyager!!! And 'bout Seven and Doc... I never understood why she falls in love with Chakotay!!! I ever seen it (back in 2000) this way: Neelix & Kes, Tom Paris & B'elana, Chakotay & Janeway and Seven & Doc! ...and Harry & Tal Celes... 8)

  • @vroniefan2000 the word is that the producers/writers wussed out of making Janeway/Seven relationship (which i guess was being subtly built up throughout the show), so they just crammed in a Chakotay/Seven relationship..which never really made sense

  • @webs87 Huh...that actually DOES make sense, the thing is though that Seven seemed more daughterly than anything else to Janeway the entire time.

I wonder if any lesbian couples were ever made during a star trek series. I know they DID discuss the issue of sexuality in "The Outcast" when an androgynous character identified as female and was sent to an alien version of straight camp, but I wonder..

  • i hate all that crap some people give the doc and seven. they are an adorable couple. they should've pursued that relationship better. later they could've had holobabies or something.

  • such a great show. sad thing it only lasted for seven episodes.

  • seldomly we find rooms in the web, everybody accepts the brilliance of it... noone press dislike up to now and that's true. Great stuff, thanks for uploading.

  • Who's singing this version of the song that Seven and the Doctor are singing along to?

  • @12chapin Atually those are both of their real voices... Jeri Ryan and Bob Picardo ... no dubbing needed .. :-)

  • A scene me and a female mate at school loved to recreate. You will always be my sunshine!

  • Yeah.. I mimic along them <3

  • I love this song ^^ they have beautiful voice

  • Which is more amazing that she appearently sang it all by herself. It wasn't synchronized or something. Jeri Ryan is a real talent, not only in acting, but also in singing.

  • @NetCrack Actors usually have backgrounds in music as well.. not surprising that she is a talented singer.

  • aaaaaaw

  • this is the moment when the doc falls in love with seven

    so cute yet...touching :)

  • I absolutely love this scene, it's a really cheerful moment and a pleasure to hear.

  • *Looks at seven of nine*

    Oooooooh thaaaat's why I watched voyager :P

  • They have more chemistry than another other two characters on this show. Tom and B' Elanna had no chemistry at all. It always seemed really phony whenever Tom got romantic.

  • @twister7900 I know what you mean. I reckon that Tom would have gotten more reaction from the warp core than he did from B'Elanna.

  • This is in my top 5 all-time favorite TV moments. Oh, how I miss this show. If its any consolation at all to those who don't like the Chakotay/ Seven relationship, in which I include myself, in the Voyager books they don't stay together after they return to earth.

  • :):):):)

  • they belong together! not chacotay and seven. chacotay should be with janeway!

  • Amen!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @zorokism You are absolutely right! Totally agree! =)

  • wow, they harmonize very well.

  • the Doc is so in love with Seven!

  • She is the best singer I've heard!

  • i think if paris walked in now - he'd do a very quick u-turn!

  • Exactly what sad and lonely people should watch to lift their spirits...oh wait, nevermind

  • Which episode was it???

  • @videoformer This is from season 5, 'Someone to watch over me'.

  • Nothing like unrequited love.

  • Doc's words imply that both he and Seven are capable of perfection. I think maybe he's been swigging a little too much of that rubbing alcohol.

  • @terminat1 perfection is what we define it as such as the ideal we hold ourselves and others to not exactly perfection as defined in a dictionary

  • This scene just makes me melt. I feel absolutely ashamed they chose not to do that many story arcs in this series, the potential for relationship development and internal conflict could have surpassed DS9 (favourite series by far) and smashed it into the ground. Great Acting and singing, whenever im having a bad day I watch this.

off topic- they couldnt even do a good story arc to end the series, which pisses me off. Seven with Chakotay? WHAT! He was more likely to end up with the captain!

  • @cHeEzMaN1 Amen.

  • Jeri Ryan looks absolutely ravishing in her uniform!!!

  • do they have death metal in the 24th century?

  • @Rahavin1 Klingons do

  • @AStarSifter I bet Warf has a holodeck program of an Amon Amarth concert

  • it's just a tv show but... the doctor seemed sometimes like a real PRICK. he was abbrassive and annoying but nobody ever took the time to re-adjust his low grade programming and sometimes he looked at 7 like he wanted to jump her bones and "assimilate" her. but apparently he likes to sing so when he's not saving the crew or just being a prick to his patients turn him into a jukebox or a giant I-POD so people will get some joy out of his sorry ass.

  • They `re singing it too high, but its gr8 anyways :)

  • Love it, star trek 4'ever

  • They left star dock with a faulty emh

  • i love it very very very very very much!

  • I want him to sing to me....I used to have the biggest crush on the doctor...

  • This is my favourite scene in all of Star Trek. <333

  • This always puts a smile on my face.

  • I'm getting all teary eyed. That was, beautiful!

  • love this episode!

  • Not only do they sound absolutely STUNNING together; but the chemistry is amazing. You can tell Picardo really -does- like Jeri Ryan. It's INSANELY cute!! Why did they never pursue this?! WHY?!?! TT^TT

  • erm???? maybe because he is hologram? and his ' feelings' are programmed. her and chakotay made no sense thou. her and the doc are sweet, but he is a computer programme-which you cant get passd!

  • ... oh my Q.

So like, I suppose Data is just an emotionless android with no soul, right?

Where have you BEEN all the Star Trek existence?! YOU ARE A MISTAKEN PERSON.

  • thats a little far fecthed- when this is JUST a programme , not real life. at the end of the day he IS just a computer program. i remember an episode when Janeway said she cant cross the line and doesnt give him more rights as an individual- cos hes part of the computer

  • Yeah, but THEN she took it back, right?! That was the WHOLE point of the episode: The Doctor is a real person.

Maybe it doesn't make sense IRL, but in the Star Trek universe, you can have anyone/thing you want, and it's real.

Maybe your argument technically makes sense, but as far as Star Trek goes, that's short-sighted and shallow.

  • no janeway didnt take it back, she only gave him so many rights. any mayb we were watching different shows cos the 1 i watched the doctor was a HOLOGRAM-part of the computer. by eck- but like i said is a lovely episode, and is a shame he is not human, cos they'd have made a nice couple.

  • Maybe we are, because in the STAR TREK UNIVERSE anybody can be freaking sentient-- and what @cinemaplaylist just said is part of my point. This has been argued over and over, but I'm surprised an actual FAN could be disputing this. It's plain stupid.

  • this is stupid! i just pointed out the obvious, that he is a hologram and thats a fact, however you want to dress it up. and star trek is a television programme , its not real life. its entertainment. just enjoy it

  • Oohhhhhhhhhhhhh. I see. Judging from:

    A) Lack of proper punctuation/spelling

    B) Lack of proper respect for artificial life forms

    C) A random and heated argument style

I have deduced that you're a minor fan. A cheap shot. Sorry I started this with you, I had no clue that you were a wanna-be fan.

  • as William Shatner once said " GET A LIFE !!!!"

  • Yeah. And Bill Shatner is an asshole. I rest my case.

  • Think about what we are. Just a composition of matter. We arose from goo and through the process of natural selection (basically just the process of random mutations, the ones that give a survival advantage being passed on), and today are the result of some sort of design. Computer AI could be no different, except it arose from an intelligent designer (humans), it's composed of different materials, that's all. The doctor may just be a program, but likewise, our consciousness is just chemicals.

  • Something being a program or artificially designed shouldn't disqualify it from being considered a sentient being. The only requirement we should have for sentience is whether the things is actually sentient or not. In many ways, our brains are basically just computers, except with the addition of being self-aware, feeling things. Whether sentient AI is plausible or not, I do not know. But in this fictional universe it seems to be the case it is - thus the doctor deserves rights.

  • beautiful...just, beautiful <3

  • This is my favorite scene. But the stems are around the wrong way on the computer!

  • *sobs* they belong together!

  • @Sirethe So true. With them paried up, everything else also falls into place...

  • @Sirethe this is the exact moment when the doc falls in love with seven

  • @Lassie1414 u alright :D

  • Great singing. I always love that scene. But why displays the 24th computer a #C note as C? *g*.

  • Why Michael?

    why?

  • @Jonnyiswhatweaimfor This is frickin' class! Favourite Voyager scene I hear you cry!?! Even if the stems are around the wrong way on the notes.

  • Great acting, great singing

  • There are things on this Earth that are just too deep for words... here behold.

  • i conclude.

    I luv borg talk! :]

  • This part should've been longer. I always loved their humor.

  • man i really missed that episode then. wonderful scene!

  • its episode Someone to whatch over.....i think

  • not to many people like jeri ryan, beautiful, talented. etc

  • @Deadq What's not to like? She's amazing!

  • When I first saw this I was taken back. This sort of Star Trek that explores humanity was well written and performed. Probably sunk it's hooks into me more than the space exploration did when I think about it.

  • This is quite possibly my favourite scene in all of Star Trek. I love it. <3

  • Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. When the Doctor goes off and starts harmonizing, I got chills. Such a beautiful scene. Even the "artists" of today can't evoke the type of beautiful singing and emotion this scene does TODAY. This is what happens when talented individuals get together, beautiful music ensues.

  • I love star trek Voyager and this clip just makes me so happy =D!!

  • I think they sang it perfectly!! I almost cried haha jk but it's nice :D

  • Picardo's great. Saw him singing live last month in Vegas. He was really fantastic! So were Tim Russ and Brent Spiner.

  • i love sevens singing its a shame she doesnt sing a bit more

  • still cant believe she ends up with Chakotay, i mean what the hell? it should of been j/c 7/the doc or should i say joe

  • I love this episode

  • It's a shame they never took this potential relationship any further. It's like a lot of things with Voyager, they touch on subjects, but then it never gets any further.

  • That's true, but it is kinda like life. The Doctor realizes nothing can ever happen between them and he moves on.

  • when i heard this song on voyager the song actually was quite impressive,

as well what makes it a tiny bit better is that a cute borg female is singing it

  • how would a hologram and a human have a relationship?....

  • Comment removed

  • This was on last night

  • this is own of the best scene's ever in voyager the fist time I watch it it maker me almost cry:)

  • it is a very good scene, since the song is probably the most unusal to sing, yet it stirrs so much up in us all,

  • did he love her? i can't remember.

  • Yup, he did.

  • Very good episode. Love Jeri Ryan.

  • big boobs *thumbs up*

  • This is one of the best episodes ever.

  • The first moment the Doctor realized he was in love with Seven. Wonderful, oft-forgotten episode.

Such a huge shame she was shoehorned into a relationship with Chakotay.

  • the fuck? I never did see the ending to Voyager but...since when does Chakotay and Seven even SPEAK to eachother? they never interact. what the hell man?

  • Oh it was such a joke. She had a good episode where Seven was struggling with dealing with the ieap of even being able to fall in love, and she uses a hologram of Chakotay to try, but afterwards there is no hint of anything between them at all, even in an episode where they are both stranded on an alien planet together literally 4 episodes before the finale. The relationship is revealed as a surprise in "Endgame" and it leads to some wince-worthy chemistry and dialogue.

  • True true, but i'm sure a hologram in love with a cyborg is fecked up enough lol.

  • the doc always liked Seven.

  • I saw this episode yesterday, and I agree!

  • Which episode was it again?

  • This episode is ''Someone to Watch Over Me''. I believe it's episode 23 from season 5.

  • One of the best ST:Voyager moments :-)

  • I wonder if they'll find a way to get him to sing in the new stargate series. That'd be awesome :)

  • Their harmony is out of this world

  • Of course it is! It's in the Delta Quadrant LMAO

  • This is one of my favorite scenes from all seven seasons of Voyager. Thanks for posting it.

  • they should have made the whole song that would have been awsome

  • She has the most amazing voice, and that is actually her singing. I love their harmony. I've been watchin this show since I was 4 and this has always been my favourite scene. I wish she sang more often.

  • 2:52. and BAM, <3

  • ... *Sniffs* ....

    THE DOCTOR IS SO GREEEEAAAAAAAAAT.

I love him. Fukken love him. *Sniff*

  • Is that he real voice? Her singing sounds just like one of the idiot savants in DS9's episode with Dr. Bashir. (You know the one who wouldn't speak.)

  • iI KNOW IT'S IS BUT i DON'T KNOW ABOUT HER

  • "What do you do with your spare time?"

    "Regenerate"

    lol

  • omg i love it : )
