Our devon rex actually makes similar sounds - he seems to sound more like a cheeping bird most of the time. Interesting how they both have speech impediments!

The feline chirp is an almost universal reaction to a window and an unreachable "out THERE" beyond. Every cat I've ever known has done this when they're dying to hunt...and can't. Bugs, birds, gophers, just anything that twitches enticingly will elicit this. It's not just Devon Rexes (although this one is Cyyyyy-ute!)

A family I nanny for has a non-pedigree cat who does this all day long to the birds outside. He's constantly 'chirping' as I like to call it. So cute!

These cats are better for people with allergies. I would die with an American Shorthair in my house, but I was able to live with a devon. I agree that people should get shelter pets, but not everyone can. To those who were wondering what they cost, I got a retired stud cat (neutered) for $300. Kittens are a lot more expensive - at least $600. He was a wonderful cat :-)

They are a bit expensive, but worth every cent. I've seen them for about $650 and $800 US dollars.

Yeah, reminds me of my cat who died a few years ago. She used to sit on my window and do that in the mornings to crows and such and wake me up. It's kinda cool tho because her daughter does it to me now when I come home or when I come into a room she's in and talk to her. Not sure if she wants to eat me or play lol

lol! I just remembered that my mom's cat does that every time my mom sneezes! My mom tries to fake it sometimes, but her cat doesn't fall for it! May I remind everyone that My mom's cat is a plain old American short hair too!! Not only expensive over-populating breeds do cute things!!! DON'T BREED OR BUY, WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!!!!!
