does anyone know how to get the video when uploaded in HD full screen like this? mine always has a stupid black border around the video.. look at my videos to see what im talking about. can someone please help me?
clockwise until the 2 red dots are parallel by doing this after the cam is turned on jusy push the on off button quicky till the 2 lazer lights come on.
What did you do for the mic settings? I noticed theres a lot of wind noise and motor noise but it sounds like there is less 'noise' all together then on other video's. Been researching these cams for a while. There are so many out there but the ContourHd seems to be the one of choice for many. Nice video, especially considering your first attempt. :)
@po0psh0ot i didn't do anything to the mic setting, this video might sound funny because the bike itself is really really loud. and there had to be alot of wind noise i think at one point in this video we hit over 110 mph.
so idk.
but ill post a video of a bike with the same exhaust
Alright thanks for getting back to me. As I said I'm considering getting one of these. Just like to research the shat out of it. heh. I've seen a lot of different ones. Some night vision ones too. During the summer I like to do a lot of night riding. Less drivers/idiots and easier to 'run' heh.
you and lopez should take a look at the date of the video. also read the title it was my first time using the camera, of course i didn't get it mounted right. this video was taken a long time ago, i don't even have this bike anymore
would you say this quality is an accurate representation? Seems a bit unfocused or blurry for HD video, for example the license plates are hard to make out even when right on top of them in the parking lot 6:45
Great video, the ContourHD is great apart from the high compression it uses. Why care about storage data these days. I want quality lol The windnoise is a little annoying aswell but sounds better than others I have heard.
rboeyen: A easy fix for wind noise. Is to ger some old ear phones. and take of the soft plug. and then put some glue around the hole ( carefull not to put it in it ) then cover the hole with the soft ear plug. It works realllly goood
The codec that the camera uses is the H264 codec in .mov format. The compression is high, but the size of video is nice and small for 720p hd video. The camera in hd mode records at 6.97Mbps, or roughly .87MB/s. So if your micro sd card writes at a decent speed (like above 2MB/s, you will be just fine. So you dont need a crazy class 6 sd card or anything)
have you downloaded video yet? can you put it into imovie on a mac? Also, have you looked at it on a flatscreen tv yet? I am wondering what it would look like on a 32 inch tv. Thanks. Cool video
macs work with anything, unfortunately everything does not work with mac.... Older sony cams, JVC eviro (or what ever). What about the other stuff I asked you? Love to know more about it.
"My Mac has never had a problem with cams or videos or codecs that I have owned." I work in video and there are a ton of them. IN fact, the JVC everios have to be transfered to another format. It is extremely common for cameras to have proprietary codecs, Only recently have they started using for common and user friendly formats. I will assume from your replay that you have no interest in answering the other questions, so thanks for your time.
you guys are way over my head talking about codecs and stuff but i can tell you that when you import the files off the camera it says ".mov" at the end.
dark conditions are no good, you can look at my dirtbike videos and see how it does in the shade but i used it in my room with the light off and it didn't show anything.
First thing tomorrow I have an appointment with my chiropractor to get my neck adjusted from watching this video.
But it is a great video though.

I've noticed that too, so no wind breakers or anything to the camera? Just from factory?

You need to adjust the camera lens by turning it
clockwise until the 2 red dots are parallel by doing this after the cam is turned on jusy push the on off button quicky till the 2 lazer lights come on.

A common complaint is that the ContourHD picture is "soft". Apparently they will be fixing that soon.

you should qualify that by saying
"My Mac has never had a problem with cams or videos or codecs that I have owned." I work in video and there are a ton of them. IN fact, the JVC everios have to be transfered to another format. Yours is not so bad, but some others they turn their head and it makes a wind noise.
I wonder what makes the difference in the recording, maybe where they mount it and air flow.
BHShaman 2 years ago
Have you tried covering the mic to cut down on wind noise? Though yours is not as bad as a bunch I have seen.
