How is it in bad weather. There's only one Guy in my town with one And he rides it all the time even in the snow. I'm really thinkng about getting one big wow factor
Kinda liked them at first glance, because they're diff. But after 2 min. started to have a change of mind. Looks like a snow mobile with a tire conversion kit on it. Dont think youd stand much of a chance if had to take a quick swerve to get out of the way. But if you like it?
would someone please put on a snowy street with atv screws in the tires..i want one..but i need to know if they're good on a slippery road... maybe even an frozen pond? i plan on riding it year round..you know..a sled for the street...
waste of money and your life when you hit a dumb driver because you almost got it around them but cliped them ......... they are a death trap thats why 3 wheelers were outlawed in the 80's
looked rather wired.... should be easier to handle than a 2 wheels bike though..
what they should really did add one more wheel enlarge it and build with carbon fiber frame maybe, that would be a super bike-car like the ktm x-bow which is a pretty awsome thing.
LOL ,What a load of crap, looks pathetic, but could be usefull for OAP´S who have lost their balance, i´ll stick to my 2 wheels thanks, in and out of the traffic, i can imagine this piece of shit stuck in a traffic jam on the m25 whilst its pouring with rain LOL.
32 to 38 MPG depending on how big a windshield, rider, etc. Plus 6th gear is really reverse so that hurts the MPG. Add in the 3rd wheel, and larger frontal area and you can see where the MPG's go.
Great vehicle. Do they make any engine mods for it. That thing with a small turbo and around 200hp would be a blast! You would probably need to put one big racing slick on the back though. Haha.
To comment on some of the people wanting to get this for "gas saving mileage." It's a 7 gallon tank I believe, and merits about 27-31 realistic miles per the gallon. If you want to get something for mileage, this really isn't the bike for you, not to mention the lack of "splitting lanes" If your state allows it. You should buy a bike like this... because it has a cool aesthetic factor to it, and is unlike a lot of vehicles in the US right now.
San Diego House of Motorcycles currently stands by the notion that it is considered a C class vehicle. Therefore, you do not need an M class license to drive it. HOWEVER according to their insurance policies, and policies of other bike places, you will not be able to test drive it without posting both a C and M class verified license.
I have NO experience on bikes, 4 wheelers or snowmobiles at all... So im a beginner and im considering getting one of the things... what do u guys think?? also do they make them in auto? is it easy to learn how to shift gears?
I'd love one of these toys with the price of gas right now. I've had about 2 years experience riding quads and dirt bikes. I'd recommend you learn how they feel before tossing yourself on the road with one of these things. It's a lot of money to invest for someone that's never had the experience. Shifting gears is easy if you know how to drive a manual car. The clutch is a lever on the left and twist or thumb throttle on the right. The shifter is foot lever on the left. Takes some coordination.
Anyone comparing this to a traditional motorcycle doesn't get it. This thing is infinitely more stable - good thing. Easier to ride - good thing. Probably safer - its bigger and can be seen easier - good thing. It gives you all the wind in your hair thrills you need WITHOUT the worry of laying a bike down and getting road rashed and embarrassed.
not 200 mph. factory says it maxes at 110 mph. I bet you could get it higher, but if your looking for speed, why not just go with the better choice (in my opinion) and buy two wheels. That way you could slide up between cars as well. Well at least here in california. :)
yes you do need a regular motorcycle endoresment on your drivers liscense, test drove one at a demo a couple of weeks ago, handles more like four wheeler than motorcycle, more for people who fear having to balance a two wheel motorcycle but want the feel of the open road. also seemed easier for me to carry passenger their moving was less noticable
this company is huge. they make quads, snowmobiles, watercraft, outboard motors, airplanes, and high speed electric trains. they are incredibly profitable.
Lol... it's the biggest recreational company in the world. Plus it leads the Regional airline industry with the CRJ and the bought DeHavilland which has Dash8.
I saw one on my road. Since it was a dirt road with lot's of pot holes and stuff, he was walking it. The bike was too low to the ground. Anyway, he and his wife (his wife was with him), told me and my family about it. IT WAS AWESOME IN PERSON!!!
we have two of them in our family, and i challenge anyone out there to show me a better motor than a rotax...case and point, they have barely changed for over 40 years.
id throw my leg over this thing long before id touch a harley or any sport bike out there for that matter. i think it is tremendous for can am to get back out there after (1987) 20 years of dormancy.
cant wait to see if they will do a dirt bike in the near future...
In Britain and Canada it's considered a roadster and you can drive with a regular license. In North America it's a motorcycle. They are really fun to drive and handle great.
its about time change comes Canadien bike trike or watever skidoo with weels or land seadoo its new and a great idea again from an inovater bombardier i hope they call one Armand bombardier and they make all the clothing line and that every canadian forget about Davidson made in japan .
Unimpressed.... hum. Mine runs 0-60 in 4.3 sec and I can smoke the back tire for 60 yards. I drop my friends on most stock ( Spyder is stock ) sport bike under 700 cc and can stay with 90% in the twisties. (Did you know all the prototypes had speed and power governers on them )? They also had GPS. They made that clear to all the riders... maybe you missed that part.
This is a great, fast, safe roadster, park it next to a row of sport bikes and choppers, everyone is looking at the Spyder.
i rode one of these around a test track during az bike week in scottsdale, az and i was unimpressed with the performance. the power wasnt down low where it needed to be. the brakes are awesome though!!! i slammed on them and the abs didnt even get to kick in. its comfortable to ride but hard to convert from a motorcycle because of the way it rides. very different, you have to try it for yourself and see!!!
After becoming paralyzed on a motorcycle and losing the use of my legs this thing is like a wet dream come true! Hand shifting and the stability is exactly what i need.
looks like a bit of fun. Looks like your very limited in alot of ways compared to a bike. Never the less it looks like fun to ride/drive.
The guy looked to be running wide on that corner even though there was a standard car in front of him so he couldnt have been doing any significant speed.

I find that hard to believe. It makes less HP than modern day 600's. Its twice as heavy as modern day 600's. That without going into the litre bikes. Rotax I think is the brand cause its definately a Vtwin.
Having said that I still reckon it would be a fair wack of fun. Being able to dump the clutch without the front wheels comming up would be a bizzare change. Also 110 mph speed limited? Wtf? Thats the end of 3rd gear 4 me.

Makes no sense. If you make your quad less stable its street legal... You should be able to toss on 4 street tires and pass a DOT inspection for brakes, lights, speed etc. and legally drive it on road with a motorcycle license. I bomb the Raptor down back roads anyway!
