  • lovin DeLa's hair... n swagger :D

  • EASY IS FINE.

  • great session players, love the bassist the best.

  • @pushkar000 Yeah, love the P bass ^^

  • What size is the drummers hihats ? They look like 16" !

  • 4:57 EPIC

  • John Mayer picks some goodass drummers.

  • this isn't his signature strat, is it??

  • @p0rsch997 think it's an original 64 strat

  • @p0rsch997 Nah, his signature strat is called "the black one" and it's all black on the body but the same sort of relicing on it, google 'the black one' they're massively expensive though.

  • that drummer is a crazy gorilla

  • He looks a druggy creep with that hair.

  • @tommymarines1 Typical stereotyping right there. Too much of that shit these days, you can't have have long hair without being a dirt druggy or a 'mosher'. I have long hair in a place populated by the norm and you get constant shit on nights out for looking different. i mean to be honest i would rather not be associated with people who define a person by the way they look by categorizing them like a god damn book.!

  • that solo is tasty as fuck

  • John Mayer have the Blues!!

  • oh hey my comment is number one :))

  • Anyone know what the pedal thing is for & what's it called at 0:36 ?

  • @saitoasis90 Its a custome made Switch controller, he has all of his pedals on a rack and that helps him to control them. It´s kinda like the one David Gilmour uses.

  • @saitoasis90 Midi-controller. It controlls his rack with pedals and all in the back. Each button on the midi-controller is a pedal for example Boss dd-7 and if he stomps on another it stacks with the dd-7. Get it?

  • @DavidPercan so in other words, its like having a pedal board but without having to stack all the pedals that you own in one place and just connecting each one into the midi controller and activating them by pressing on the # that it was assigned to? Am I correct or no? Sorry it's just that i've been wondering for quite a while and i cant find a video here on youtube explaining what the difference is between a normal pedalboard to this midi controller.

  • @saitoasis90 you're right! :)

Seems kinda sweet if you have like... millions of dollar to spend on racks and stuff. haha

  • best part of the song 5:25

    coool grooove

  • slight jump at 2:52 : /

  • Tremendous artists/band I just discovered on an Abbey Road dvd compilation !

  • i was about to write a comment but i had the wrong pickup on

  • @sweetflip12 Don't worry, Chad knows...

  • @sweetflip12 and you took an arrow to the knee

  • its like the old war of life :)

  • jesus h christ that band is lethal

  • yaaaahhh kepotong-potong part videonya -____-"

  • at 1:59 the bassist looks like he gets a bad blowjob.. xD..

  • the whole reason i picked up guitar is so i could "get it all out". the drums just didn't do that for me like the guitar does now.

  • Does anybody know if John Mayer uses a smaller stratocaster than most people?

  • @SlipperywhenBlake no, he is that tall...

  • @SlipperywhenBlake Nah, I think he just makes it look small. He's hella tall.

  • Isn't that his first Strat he bought?

  • Screw the wine and the pianist! You can tell the bassist feeling the funk, sexyness, and groovyness of this tune at 1:55 (; "Oooooh yeah, baby!"

  • WOW. Pino palladino actually had a bass tone that was audible??...

    nope.

It was Dave LaBruyere all along. What a fucking shame he left the band...

  • Groovy groovy groove time

  • IS AMAZING. THANK YOU AND HE SAYS AND UTHEY PLAY IT SO WELL.

  • Keys: 'What to have with a funky-as tune like this...I think I'll have a glass of wine, thank you.'

    Legend.

  • Thank God the footage cut out as he was about to talk about his "zen thing".

  • Eccentric Much John?...it's all good...still Absolutely Love Your Style!

  • this music is like a vulture. i can't seem to shake it off from my trail

  • i really love the way he take it out from the scales he is using, just a bit...almost cant notice.but is there!!!! fantastic man.......

  • 23 people are too stupid to appreciate good music.

  • I love John Mayer.

  • He's such a tool but my god this song and the way he plays the heck out of the guitar gives me the chills.

  • @VinyLnia John Mayer is a Rock God dude. He could never be a tool. He is mad funny too.

  • @VinyLnia I wish I was a tool so I could make millions of dollars and sleep with hot women.

  • john mayer is us guitar nerds' hero, showing that we can come out of the bedroom and do great things with it.

    dougsusername 3 days ago

    dougsusername

    dude that is so true!!

  • john mayer is us guitar nerds' hero, showing that we can come out of the bedroom and do great things with it.

  • Watch my videos for John Mayer covers!! :)

  • Keyboardist's glass of wine at 3:17. I lol'd.

  • @JohnMayer07 It's good for the nerves I guess.

  • 1:16 - 1:20

I laughed so hard. He's so in the zone!

  • @He looked like he was busting a nut. Dude really gets into his music. You got to respect him for that.

  • there's sumthin wrong witht eh vid, it skips parts all the time..

  • I'm pretty sure he's talking about the illuminati in this song. John Mayer has a lot of influence on a wide audience, he has the ability to change minds and open a lot of minds.... "They've never gone this long without a kill before." When was the last major assassination?John Lennon or something? "If this is what it takes to take me even higher." The afterlife i'm guessing. "Power is made by power being taken." Yeah, he's talkin about the vultures of this world for sure.

  • Comment removed

  • @maximusgenius

LOL Illuminati? Please, just shut up, you're making yourself look bad...

  • @BadMannerKorea lulz, i'm not really sure what you mean.

  • John and Steve must feel so good hearing something like this come out of a song they created.

  • The thing i like about John Mayer's music is that he not the only one with musical talent.

The band keeps there weight in the ensemble and im sure that they write their on parts.

I think thats what makes his music so good.

  • Ohh and why does the pianist have a glass of wine at 2:27

  • @gabbyOwabby why WOULDNT he?

  • Comment removed

  • @gabbyOwabby because he can

  • @gabbyOwabby

because we also drink wine!! I mean, we are musicians, not doctors, lawyers. And if you can drink half glass of wine during a show, and still being professional, I don't thin that it is bad! I do it. Also I can tell you, that most of us were alcoholics!!

  • @gabbyOwabby the real question is why not?

  • @gabbyOwabby I'm not saying that its wrong. It's absolutely classy

  • @gabbyOwabby Cuz he can

  • @gabbyOwabby Whats wrong with that?

  • @gabbyOwabby why not

  • John Mayer.... I cannot stand his personality he acts like a 15 year old boy but he music so amazing and sexy also very addicting... WOW

So I think that can justify his craziness. But this song is like better than sex, really.

  • hey guys, when i try to solo to this song i use the minor pentatonic scale. but it doesn't really feel right. does mayer play this song using a mode or the pentatonic? feedback would be much appreciated. thanks!!!

  • @nickys15 i usually run through a minor pentatonic, with modes thrown in. its more of a feel for the guitar than anything else. play what sounds good to you man.

  • @MrGuitarman234 got ya, thanks for the advice dude

  • @nickys15 i wouldnt be surprised if he just ran through all the 5 pentatonic positions

  • great guitarist, vocalist etc... but my good, he makes some fucked up faces when he sings

  • typical introvert, like me. i can't imagine life without my guitar

  • @xxguitarhero48xx dude tell me about it my guitar is like my horcrux, its a part of my soul

  • @xxguitarhero48xx -amen-it`s cost me many a girlfriend..much to my chagrin

  • i like how he's like "i got the technical side down now" and then they cut to a scene where he's like "sorry wrong pickup" haha. John mayers the bomb tho

  • I never really liked this song until this video.

  • he has such a unique voice

  • @codygx123 he totally mimicks Stevie Ray Vaughan's voice

  • @FOXHOUND1707 i think almost everybody gets their signature voice by emulating others..

  • I dont know nothing abaut music as i see on most of comments here but i love Vulures

  • Don't like the the rhythm section as much...

  • Adoro aquele baterista com aqule gingado e o cabelo arrepiadinho.Alias , adoro este cabelo enroladao e desajeitado do John Mayer.A vibracao pela sua musica, sem comentario.Muito bom.

  • Que buen tema!!

  • awsome!!!

  • how many times does he say he selects the "wrong" pickup on this session? he says he does it on Gravity too? Come on John can anyone really tell or care?

  • @78jag musicians can...lol....its 2 much bass on this 1...nd gravity he would b on the same pickup as this song...which would make gravity sound...weird

  • @78jag i sure cant lol. but somtimes it makes all the difference.

  • love how the organ players just chilling with a glass of wine

  • cant even watch this fucking video so annoying they skip over so much of his solo

  • @Mharr1s: Oh. Is that why it keeps "skipping"?

  • This is so fuckin groovy

  • No matter if you like JM or not, you gotta love the influence he have on the music industry. Most young people listen to music who dosn't even contain real instruments and is computer manipulated.

  • brillian

  • Like the 22 people who disliked this shouldnt even have watched it because they must of not liked Mayer in the first place :p douche bags

  • I have listened to this song so many times, I love it and I just realized that the guitar is very Bonnie Raitt. Love it.

  • i want to know how he did his hair. if anyone knows let me know please

  • @JohnMayerFan98

I want to know who did his hair too so that I can slap them. It is awful. So glad that he cut it.

  • Gotta love his shoes

  • "stop stop stop. wrong pickup" hahahh the band revolves around you john mayer. you are the mayor of bad music.

  • @thesilentcircus789

Ehm he is the artist hiring the band, no? Anyone would ask the band to start over in that situation.

  • @mountazeaicky oh well, i guess I don't then :)

  • that bass player was totally checking John out. LOL. How awesomely gay :D

  • @LeAnn0206 u dont know anythin bout feelin and connection in music.. xD

  • @mountazeaicky come to think of it. you probably don't too ;)

  • @LeAnn0206

I don't know about that on!, But the bass player totally looks like he is making love to that thing!

  • @fionaspencer8 i know right? :)

  • @fionaspencer8 That is what Bassists do!!!

  • @edrjazz

Yes, this is a very good point! My ex played the bass and he used to call it f**king his bass.

  • @fionaspencer8 if this is his "sexface" i never could have sex with him..... xD

  • @LeAnn0206 David LaBruyere has been working with John since 1998 or so..sexual tension buildup, lol.

  • check out my guitar cover of this great song.

  • Just awesome

  • gotta love the intense chemistry at 5:26 - 5:45

  • you know, in the liner notes, he dedicated this to michael mcdonald, if i'm not mistaken. funny, i always thought it had that vibe to it. strangely, m-mcd wasn't involved at all.

  • They dude on the keys has a glass of wine ready to go... that's classy.

  • that bass player is really querky I love it though!

  • too bad. GLITHCES. :|

  • God, I hate the fucking bassist xD He looks like such a cocky asshole.

  • whats with the glitches?

  • 2:57 - 3:17 OMFG

  • like he said, guitar is such a completely free place to get out what you need without interference. Language is interference

  • HIS BEST HAIR PERIOD. IMHO.

  • @takaminescafe I agree!

  • the sound of his strat is amazing! wish i had that guitar....

  • @1996Prashant

Having the same guitar don't garanty you to have the same sound, you must have an adequat equipment and know how to set it. But I guess you knew it already.

  • Sweet Robert Cray vibe and licks - a really great tune and a nice tribute to an obvious influence

  • to perform a straight like the drummer does for several minutes without any mistakes or differences in the drum-sounding is soooo hard! and he def. kick ass by doin it so easiley :) *thumbs up* john and your band!

  • How 22 could dislike that song?

  • I agree this is one of his best! LOVE it!

  • jonh mayer muito bom esse cara parabens!!!

  • Video is kinda choppy

  • his and Dave Matthews voice are little similar :). i love it :)

  • Sexiest song!!

  • I love the organ on this version! =D

  • God's most genuine products: the Fender Strat and John Mayer

  • Great song!

  • haha I'm diggin the wine by the keyboard. God gotta love being a musician and having the life!

  • this is the first time i seen him not use the gold strat for this !

  • He is cocky and a bit of a douche when I catch him on TMZ or E! or whatever. But god damn his music is just out there. People don't think he's blues, but man can he play the shit outta that guitar, straight up bad ass.

  • @tempuramonster if i was that big in the music business and i was a badass at guitar i would be cocky as well.

  • @tempuramonster you mean he's a douche when entertainment sites whose soul purpose is to catch him on a bad day? if a camera followed you around 24/7 i'm sure they could catch 30 seconds of you being a douche once a month too.

  • @tempuramonster I'd be a douchebag to those cocksuckers at TMZ and E too, they just feed off people, they're parasites, and I'd make them feel like that too.

  • @tempuramonster How would like 100s of paparazzis up in your ass all the time?

  • Absolutely LOVE this song!

  • 4:55 i blurted out "Ahhh! don't... blow my mind like that"

  • Lol even if he is arrogant, who gives a shit, he is allowed to be arrogant, look at what he achieved by being arrogant! -

  • i was told that this is not really his song?? does anyone know whos song this really is?

  • @blaint09 This was actually a John Mayer Trio song- it belongs to Steve Jordan, himself, and Pino Palladino, in that order.

  • and yes , pino palladino on bass makes it sound a lot better

  • i think this is one of the most perfect and beautiful songs ever made

  • I prefer how Pino Palladino does the bass stuff.. :D

  • How can anyone compare Fruscianti with Mayer? They´re completely different styles of player. Would you compare Michael Schenker with Lenny Kravitz? Of course not. Just enjoy the music, we don´t need to keep saying who is "best", it´s too personal and impossible to say. That´s the beauty of music and the beauty of the guitar ;)

  • sorry i offended so many people with that last comment but honestly i usually dont pick favorites but frusciante definitely owns mayer
