@tuseroni Hollywood will do nothing to remedy that. Amy was introduced because Sheldon, being uninterested in sex, wouldn't want a pretty bimbo with no brains for a love interest. Hence, they HAD to create a nerdy female character since any other would have looked completely absurd (cf Ramona in season 2). Other than that, Leonard and Wolowitz are much more into looks thus have pretty girlfriends, personality and intelligence being accessories to the necessary knockout figure.

@daMysteryofChessboxn Sheldon isn't exactly the "nice guy" type either. Sure he's entertaining but, were he real, nobody would want to be his friend. Amy is just like Sheldon, only less deliberately unpleasant. But anyone is entitled to their opinion. I just find it dishonest to assume that the quality of a show relies solely on the presence/absence of one specific character.

She's given Sheldon depth and companionship. Sheldon doesn't have to drag Leonard around if he wants to go somewhere. Amy shows a different, more personal side of Sheldon. Obviously though, you don't really care or else you wouldn't be so hateful towards Amy. Why not go find a forum for your complainants? You're just bringing down YouTube like all the other haters.

I never liked Amy. She's too much like Sheldon who is supposed to be so exceptional, and yet she hangs out with Penny - something which, if you're honest, is ridiculous, because Penny is: FAR more attractive and "cool" than her, or before I ramble on to put it simply: way too different. Additionally Amy has no actual relation to any of the guys except for Sheldon.

Especially the last episode which was mainly about Amy pissed me off. Call me a hipster douche, but the first 3 seasons were better.

Penny is simply not a total superficial bitch. I mean she befriended a group of nerds who would not normally hang out with a girl like Penny. Why can't she befriend Amy too? By your logic Penny shouldn't be friends with any of these characters because they are "way too different".
