  • I love this . Jerry sent me a dvd of it a couple years ago. We have been friends since high school. Jerry is a wonderful organist and friend. He had a small pipe organ in his garage when we were in high school.

  • The clock reminds me alot of the clock tower in "Kiki's Delivery Service".

  • This is absolutely wonderful. I've watched so many theatre organ pieces on YouTube, but none like this. This piece shows what a talented organist can do to enhance silent film, which is why we had organs in movie houses of those days. Thanks to you for recording this live, and making the painstaking efforts to re-sync this with the film. Great work by all.

  • are you ttrying to re create the experience with overdubbed laughter in the background???

    i love experiences like this

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen Its recorded on a live performance. I love it too.

  • we have a pizza and pipes in san jose california, i went there once, and vaguly remember the organ -then they removed the organ, if this super 8 mm happened i would have loved it

  • I am transfering my 8mm movies incluting this one. Its one of my favorites. And what a score! Fantastic! Do you mind if I download the soundtrack to use in my 8mm copy?

  • @thorir30

i remember the super 8 mm of this with NO SOUND. someone all these years later showed the projector of it on youtube before selling. i wished someone could show the video of the beginning which explaines why no sound on the super 8 mm...

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen Yes, Super 8 films were silent untill the 1970s. But the funny thing is that even though it was silent, you could choose betveen black and white or colour prints. B/W was cheaper so I think that was the most comon. Ive been collecting 8mm films for about 10 years now and most of my films are B/W, silent. So I think they were the very most comon.

If you dont mind, I would like to download the soundtrack from this video and sync it to my 8mm copy, then upload it here on youtube.

  • @thorir30

could someone show the super 8mm silent one of this at the beginning, because the copy i saw as a kid explained why there was no sound

others had the same super 8mm and posted excerpts on here

  • I think Walt Disney had a thing for clocks...he did quite a few of these...

  • This is fabulous. Waterloo, Iowa is my home town. I spent a lot of time in the Paramount Theater (that is what it's last name was). It was a beautiful place. I believe it sat around 2,000. Though I never heard this organ (the movies were all talkies by the time I came along in the 1950's), I do remember seeing the console when it was raised out of the pit and being in awe of it's size (as a little kid). Thanks for posting this. If this place is still open, I would love to visit it.

  • I never heard of Jerry Bacon some awesome talent there wonderful

  • Who was the Organist ?

  • I can imagine this film being shown at the Stanford Theater, one of the few remaining theaters with an organ.

  • This is great. What are the tunes that are being played?

  • Loved this! Thanks so much for posting!

  • Thanks for posting all theatre organ is Awesome !

  • Very good.

  • Beautifully and cleverly scored. It is obvious that he was not playing this cartoon 'cold' as many of us pizza organists had to do on occasiion. Good preparation.

  • I like how he starts playing the Brahms Hungarian Dance when Donald gets on the mainspring. I mean, what is a mainspring doing in a tower clock anyway? But I suppose the whole idea of this thing is ridiculous. That is the Disney way. I certainly think this organ accompaniment beats out the original Disney soundtrack any day of the week and makes this film much more hilarious and enjoyable. major kudos!

  • A precious piece of entertainment history. The co-ordination of this project is perfect. Nice job and funny.

  • This is so good! You have done a fantastic job. thanks

  • Perfect! This is exactly what we need more of.

  • I only have a few of those memories, but that brings 'em back. ... masterful recombination there... thanks so much

  • wow this is so great thanks for shearing. that must have been so cool to see live.

  • Is Landmark Pizza & Pipes still in business?

  • This is GREAT! I've been waiting for this for a long time for featuring on my organ music page on my website. Thanks for putting in the work to digitize this!

  • Excellent production!

  • Fantastic! GREAT job applying the right music and effects, just at the perfect TIME!
