Dirk's game is pretty much just shooting. He's not a great defender or post-up player in terms of getting around someone, he just shoots over them. Still, the way he shoots, that's all you need.

I've seen a lot of legendary conference final performances before and I never saw someone score 48 points on 15 shots, not even Jordan. Not only was Dirk extraordinarily efficient, he was doing it while hitting an array of fade away jumpers over a good defender in Ibaka. Everyone else in the league would have needed 25-30 shots to get 48 points... not Dirk. Easily the MVP and best player of the playoffs... there's nothing anyone can do to stop him form scoring.
Dirk is NOT one dimensional.... he can shoot from anywhere, he can post-up, he can drive, he's among the best in getting to the FT line, he's been a top 15 scorer in the last 10 years (over 21,000 points and counting), he's among the best passing big-men in the last 10 years, he's been a top 10 in defensive rebounds in the last 10 years, he's made numerous clutch plays and game-winners, and plays good defense. He's done pretty much everything (except NBA title), to secure a place in the HOF.

Regardless of what will be said of him, there is no doubt that Dirk has place among the NBA's All-Time Greats. His number 41 will be proudly retired, he will be proudly enshrined in the Hall of Fame, and his name alone will forever attain iconic status in the sport. Dirk Nowitzki is the name.

I never said Kobe didn't do anything, I said they won because of Shaq, sure Kobe was part of it, but take out Shaq and what happens? Kobe missed the playoffs that first year. He won't win a championship without Shaq, he can't do it on his own. And what did you say? Dirk choked in the finals. Yeah, because he did not average 25+ points during the finals, right? Mavs lost because everyone else disappeared during the finals, just like what happened with the Mavs-Nuggets series this year.

Really? what is his shooting percentage against the Pistons when he wouldn't pass to Shaq and lost 4 games to 1, what was his shooting percentage when he choked away a 3-1 lead over Phoenix in the first round three years ago including losing game 7 by 31, and finally what was his shooting percentage last year when he choked away his team's 18 pt. halftime lead in game 4, and then lost by 39 pts. in game 6 to close out the series. He averaged 26 pts. because everyone else was keying on Shaq.
