I raised 2 baby opossums to adulthood after a redneck (I used to live in the South) purposely drove over their mom. Her babies were still in her pouch and much younger than this one. I managed to remove 4 from the pouch, but only 2 survived. I fed them "rodent milk" all pet stores carry. They roamed freely in my apartment, as they had an inherent sense to use the litter box. They are very clean and loving animals, and they do not get rabies.

Actually, opossums make good pets... I got a friend who has one; feeds it a staple of dog food and whatever's left after dinner. Be warned; they get CRAZY BIG; a healthy male can get 10 lbs. Enjoy...

I once had a baby possum; his mom and siblings were killed outside of my yard and he was the only survivor. I named him Chipper Kenobi. I took him to a nature reserve after about three days, and they said they would call me when they released him but they never did. It made me pretty sad.
