  • you do realise it's possible to drive a car at that speed normally?

  • what program do you use to slow the vid ??? i got a cannon rebel ti 3 i believe, and supposedly it can do slow mo vids, but i dunno if i cant do it on the actual camera, or do i have to use a program to slow it down. thanks !

  • can you process to 300fps on FCP?

  • @luckygelukkig twixtor pro, fcp you won't get this good of quality in post, you'll get noise and not the full 60 fps if you compile in FCP

  • You mean 300 shutter speed, not 300 frames per second. The 7D does not do more than 60 fps.

  • slo-mo tutorial: /watch?v=bgidQn_6Gr8

  • which programm did you used?

  • Question, is the 7d better than the t3i at slow motion?

  • @shiestytracks its the same because the 7D and 600D/t3i has the same censor and both have 60fps 720p video ;)

  • how do you get it to 300 fps??

  • USELESS WITH FASTER MOVING OBJECTS

  • This is totally shit! The most boring scene ever. It doesn't even look like slo-mo, it just looks like a car is drving really slowly down the road. Worst video ever.

  • if you shoot in 60fps and run in 300fps it should play 5 times faster, no?

    mb its 10-12fps?

anyway i dont have the camera and the app.

  • @BedaKaz 60fps interpolated to 300fps and then played back at 24fps most likely.

  • thanks for sharing!

  • 300fps p*rn

  • Nice shutter speed!

  • great music congratulations composer you are great 5 stars

  • Wow, that guy's driving really slow - lol

  • what your twixtor's setting to make 300fps?

  • Magnifique !

  • Damn what a flow, thats amazing!

  • Very smooth!

I apologize if you've covered this already, but I'm curious how handled your shutter speed. Did you shoot 180 degree shutter for 300fps or did you follow a different method? I've been wanting to experiment with my Canon 7D and Twixtor in FCP.

  • This is brilliant! Shame the alloys on the car are a give away!

  • how can we shoot slow motion in 7D? Anyone know how to operate?

  • Q. what does the footage look like after it is processed to 24p but before to 300fps.......is the slow motion choppy???

  • is the slow mo a setting

  • what is causing the jitteryness?? <---not even a word

  • record it in 60fps and extend the video file 5 times in vegas pro or in final cut pro and there you get 60 fps x 5 = 300 fps = super slowmov

  • Should I buy a 7D or a 550D ?

  • @Mishinima 7D if youll make money out of using it and you have to money to buy it, 550D if you want to take good photos as a hobbey

  • If your house was burning down and u could only grab one camera and u had your pick out of the 7D or 5D mk ii what would u choose.

  • Comment removed

  • just a quick question, can this be done with the 550D (t2i)?

  • best camera ever!!

  • Wow.... it looks excellent eyepatch. Thanks a lot for posting this up.

  • How 300fps? 7d is only recording in 60?

  • naceeeee i want the 7d

  • Hello everybody. In my experience i've shot 60p and edited in 24p which equals at about 2.2-2.4 times slower. Then after effects PIXEL MOTION remaps time another 2x times. Some REVISION motion blur plugin gives more smoother effect. Guess, the final footage has to be slowed from 4 to 5 times slower. (almost 300fps). Nice trick.

  • how did you get 300 fps? did you use an optical flow re-time or frame blending? you need some relative motion to see it better.

  • I highly doubt this was hand-held since the 7d has bad shuttering problems even on a tri-pod when panning.

  • Excuse me, but this camera is a photo camera? Thanks

  • LOL Nice try - the brake lights are on.

  • Maybe the car is supposed to stop there or something?

  • Hey man, what was your workflow from 60fps to 300fps, did you capture at a high shutter, convert to a 24p timeline, then slow down further using twixtor?

    Any help is appreciated, cheers.

  • I'm not convinced. The car was definitely riding the brakes.

  • Bom a musica é boa a imagem é boa mais o video deve ser mesmo de teste porquê sem sentido!

  • Hey man, great test. I am going to buy a 7D soon, body only. I REALLY want to get slow motion of this caliber, so can I ask, what lens should I be buying along with it to get such clarity? And would you recommend another camera, or is this one just fine?

  • 50mm 1.4 ($350)

  • you will run into audio issues, but the quality is amazing. you just have to record externally on something like the zoom H4N

  • Hey, thanks a lot for those tips! Yes, I was planning on using an external microphone anyway, either on a boom like you would with a camcorder, or something like that zoom! Thanks again! :)

  • how did you slow it down that much? doesnt the camera shoot at 60p the highest?

  • Nice!

  • look on ward 0:12 looks like the car has ABS engaged

  • very nice. What lens are you using?

  • how did you get 300fps?

  • @HAGFISHproductions I think he means 1/300 shutter speed (hundredths of a second exposure time) which IS NOT fps (frame rate). The only available frame rates or FPS on the 7D or most DSLRs for that matter are 24, 25, 50 and 60 which was used for this video. A cool way to achieve ultra slow-mo with a 7D although kinda cheating is to take stills at 8fps and blend them in post. There are limits to its effectiveness but it can look amazing when used correctly.

  • @HAGFISHproductions twixtor pro, poor man's phantom

  • quick question, how lond did it take you to upload this on to youtube? because ive heard it takes a lot of time with this calliber of HD.

  • Question. How do you like the 7D? Good Camera? if you were to grade it what would it be? and also whats the song/band?

  • fantastic camera. Music by akira wing, youtube channel: akirawing

  • @eyepatchentertainmen If i filmed this with any camera that shot 60fps would it be the same as this? And also how do you get it to exactly 300fps without being so many fps off?

  • @eyepatchentertainmen

Sounds like music from World of Warcraft. The melody is neraly exactly the same...

  • @904SF the canon 7d is one of worlds best amatuer professional camera's around. People make movies and tv show's with them and can earn a living with this camera, so imo 10/10 for this camera.

  • @904SF I second that. GREAT camera. He used a nice word. Fantastic is truly true ^^ !

  • This is actually fascinating! I love it.

  • How did you get 300?

  • Long render time :P

  • indeed :D

  • try a 6-core AMD CPU running at 3.6Ghz with 16GB DDR3 ram video card, raptor 10,000RPM 600GB drive, all for $800. It's cheap, and very fast. What used to take 4 hours on my intel 2.5ghz quad now takes just over 90 mins. :)

  • you can really see the stepping on the respeed if you watch the hubcaps of the car, be interesting to see how the technique handles other subjects.

  • I read some of the comments about maybe this was just a slow moving vehicle. Watch the front of the building on the right side in front of the vehicle. There are two people coming out of it and they ARE definitely in slo-mo! :D Cool!

    BOP

  • Slo-mo is the other thing I want to learn to do! Is this the same camera as the other video I commented on? I have a handicam that also takes photos (all I could afford at the time). What video recorder is this? Can you do this with any video recorder? Also, which kinds of programs are required to produce slo-mo?

    Thanks:)

    BOP

  • sir, i am a PC user, and have just bought 7D, i have CS4. Plz tell me the steps how u did this!

  • With CS4, I would suggest directly importing your footage into After effects and use twixtor from there. I have a tutorial in the list of videos on the right.

  • @eyepatchentertainmen

    whats is twixtor?

  • i've seen some sweet after effects/twixtor vids on here. good for your for being a PC! put your money into your imaging kit. a trendy computer won't make your vids any better :)

  • Isn't it 60 -> 300 -> 24 ? That would make sense!

  • This looks great !

But do I understand corectly?: You shot this at 60fps then you processed it to 24fps and then to 300fps? Wouldn't have been the same if you would have shot it originally at 24fps? Doesn't 60 to 24 conversion means you lost a lot of frames, or you took the 60fps footage and slowed it down to 24fps? Please correct me! And what software do you use for this?

Thank you for your your answer and keep up the good work! I can't wait to see more!

  • what would 300fps look like? Would it be like super fast?

  • No... It would be like seeing this. 300 Frames Per Second. This is 300FPS slowed down.

  • If a 300fps video were played back at 300fps, it would playback at normal speeds.

If 60fps were played back at 300fps, it would be much faster yes.

  • Man I want this camera

  • Nice :-) 5/5

  • how do i know itis slow mo and not just a slow moving car??? can you do a video where it is something we know has to be fast moving such as a bird flapping its wings, The other video you did of the birds in the cage didnt really show much effect of the slow mo

  • If you look at the trees closely you can tell.

  • Don't forget to talk about the shutter when filming with a DSLR, in your tutorial :)

(coz, I don't know what would change if you change the shutter when filming).

    Anyway, Very nice vid!

  • Thanks! Certainly will, shutter changes how the motion blur looks.

  • looks nice, I like the sun!
