This is my favorite Stallone movie after Rocky, and not many of my friends understand that. I always have to justify, why I love the movie that much. I see so many things and messages in this movie...I bet I interpret much more in this, that even Stallone intends to, and he is the writer of it*gg*
And I must admit the german synchronization sucks! They translate a lot lines in a completely different meaning or, even worse, miss out whole sentences....anyway, I love this movie for 20 years now!
I love this movie. My dad was a truck driver, and not there growing up. raised by my mother and sisters, I had to face reality of becoming a man on my own. This movie tears me up everytime.
what an epic "end battle" today's script writers and directors should take a note, it's not how much money you spend on CGI and production fancyness, it's the content of the story that gives the viewer the most chills !!! and what a beautiful and inspiring massage this movie delivers, the american spirit , i love it , best wishes from germany.
@loriann1237 The grandfather realized in the end that they should be together..father and son. Great movie by the way. The wrestling scenes were awesome.
I was eighteen when I first watched this film; my life was never the same. I learned no matter how hard life can get, you are the only one who can make a difference, and discover that happiness can be ultimately found
@joonbihup this made me fill up with tears when i read your comment.. god bless your soul my friend, and its absoultly true. only "us" can make a difference
Well Rotten Tomatos is the worst reviewers of all time... So I really doubt that they have the credibility specially when they diss George Clooney. They are RETARDED
This movie is awesome. I grew up with a father that was a cross-country truck driver and i have seen this movie more times than i can remember but it still has an awesome message and still leaves me feeling inspired. Thank god for sylvester stallone.lol

Cant take great movies away from the soul aye..! Gotta say stallone is awesome in this movie, didnt realise he had this much acting talent, he can do the emotional stuff to the "T"!!..
Great music and arm wrestling scenes, but there are parts that aren't very realistic such as what Bull does at the 10-second mark. In a real match, there's no way someone could do that without someone's elbow coming off the table...
