Saw this performed live - and it was BEAUTIFULLY done!! The artistic choices work so well on stage and this company is to be commended for its fabulous talent. The troupe had a full, enthusiastic standing ovation and had they been in town for more than one evening, I would have gone back to see this truly brilliant interpretation of The Sound of Music again.
well I just saw this , so I can answer your question:D actually th elonely goatherd wasn't put IN the show; instead, after the curtain fell with "the end", it rose again, and the song was performed with the family von Trapp puppet; and another curtain rose and we saw the artists manipulating the puppets from above. the audience began clapping, it was an excellent idea !
I just read an article on the Salzburg Marionette Theater, it's so interesting! I'm glad there's at least one clip of it here so that we can see what it's like.
