I already regret working so much to give my sons the lifestyle they were accustomed to. My youngest son sat at my feet crying and begging me to stay home and bake him cookies they way I used to, but without childsupport and no help from the govt I didn't see any other way. Now, my youngest son does not speak to me and I am not even allowed to see my own granddaughter when their father who I divorced to save them from being hurt physically is reaping the rewards of my raising them all alone.
Great comments. Human life is temporary. Even a centinarian lives a short life relatively speaking. Being too critical solves nothing. It's important to cut yourself a litlle slack and not be too hard on yourself for "not doing everything" you wanted to do. Just remember to wisely use whatever time you have left to correct your mistakes.
I lived almost all my dreams,I only work when i need money I taveled the world ,and I have had children,,,I served in the Military, and I am very happy to play guitar allday;LOL,smoke alot of weed, and just do what I have to do to survive, and most importantly Love every one as I love myself,Peace, and God Bless you

most of my regrets are insignificant, like I wish I ate more bacon and cheesecake. I wish I had more sex. I wish I had more loving relationships in my life.
Judging by all the recent wars it would seem that there are many people who have no perception of what a life is until the moment that their own one slips away.

i regret #1 already, my whole childhood i listen to every one ask all the other kids what they wanted to be and every one was like great thats dandy, when they asked me and i replied "i want to make guns and knives" they'd laugh and say but people already make those...don't you want to be a police man. hell no...i wanted to make knives, swords, and other dangerous things, after 10 years of listening to them i'm finally trying what i want to do and its extremely hard with the limited income we
Thank you very much for sharing! This is so true! Life is so short, and I've been told that at the end, it seems especially short, so it's good to learn these priorities in life and try to do this while we still can. I'm passing this along.
As one who is dying (anaplastic brain tumor), I have thought about some of these things. You can't really know what you should/should not have done, I have thought perhaps I should have worked less, but if I did, then what? I would have had less money to do the things I wanted. I was never married, but if I had been, there might have been a bitter divorce, don't know. One thing I do know- I now value my past experiences, such as travel, more than material things, can't take anything with me.
when i saw the title of this video, it took me some time before i saw the word 'the' in the title, i kept reading it as "The 5 Biggest Regrets of Dying". Therefore seeing the word "the' changed the meaning entirely. um , yeah i would think so, and being almost 45 i can see i regret pretty much the first 45 yrs of my life. don't exactly know how to bring about that change however... easier said then done, altho would love the schematics on this idea....
I don't have these regrets. I learned early on that in order to live a life worth living I couldn't worry about things that were in the past, but learn from them and make the future better than the past.
@ChristopherJManess well aren't you the fuckin man? and you tell us all this for what exact reason? if this is true i envy you on one hand, on the other, if you were so brilliant, you would have had the sensitivity to not rub it in the face of millions of others who are not quite so brilliant, and live in a way as to please many others to the detriment of themselves, to the point that they later regret it. So nice to live without considering others feelings, you are truly superior.
@Polarcupcheck The brain suffers, unless they change their mind. A rich man scoffs at $1,000. A poor man praises at $1,000. I did two tours in Iraq, had nightmares, short temper and suffered from suicidal considerations, until I made up my mind not to allow it to continue. I changed my mind. My mother suffered from Bi-Polar Maniac Depression her entire life, yet raised five children. Life is about choice, and one can choose to how to deal with the consequence, regardless of the circumstance.
@ChristopherJManess I don't know why people are flagging your comments, it is a legite point of view.
The way I see it, it is all about values. If you don't value something, you won't miss it. If you do, you will. These values are always being re-evaluated, but people get trapped. Paradoxes start developing.
@Polarcupcheck Excellent point! It's called programming. We're all raised with certain values. In America it is often money that is most valued. $250,000 won't bring back the father who died in war, for instance. Those who are flagging my comment must know it to be true, or they wouldn't reject such harsh reality. I learned that bad things happen to people, period. I learned to not only accept it, but find good in it. Some lessons are not explained in plain language. Thank you for understanding!
I am not afraid to die and have no regrets. I did the best I could and studied logic, psychology, and philosophy to make sure I really did do the best I could. When I no longer need this heat engine, 30% efficient to carry my brain around I don't care what happens to it.
This is just too unbelievable- Everywhere I turn I see the universal consciousness thinking of these things. It's got to be universal! It's all over this planet right now!
Well I agree with this, however in the end we all go to dust and non existance. So the only after effects post mortem is your place in history. Everybody remembers Julius Caeser, Christ, Hitler, Bush, Obama. Will I be in the history books or the common memory? No but I don't really care because I will be dead.
This life is just a theme park-here today-gone tomorrow.
"I wish I didn't work so hard." Give me a break. I don't regret working hard. How the hell are you going to get married and raise a family w/o working hard and making the money for rent, bills, food, and entertainment? I don't know any women who will marry a man with a low income. If they exist, let me know.
I found that life and time are extremely precious. I feel myself getting more impatient when things and people waste life and time, especially mine. Those 5 things are amplified by this realization. Every good day goes into the treasure of memories.

@morningmayan Don't suppose you've seen my channel, although now might be a great time to check it out. I did a short video about a kind customer that I met. He tells me the spirit of his deceased wife is still around the house.
14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Life is about learning, it never stops and when you die it is certainly not the end for you. Consciousness evolves in order to know itself completely. Live life and love and learn in joy. @WyldOrbit ...NO..Happibness is NOT the goal...the LULZ is the goal...always...the LULZ is the pointing out of whats wrong, and dealing with it by reaction, one way or another, but staying centred and letting the wrongdoer, often the narcisist, grow in hate, even encouraging it till they implode... the happiness u can carry thru into the darkest times and give to one another, & when the laughing is done the LULZ leads to reflection, and self-betterment, the LULZ is ALL.
I totally disagree. It does not mention anything about the world as a whole. It is a self centered article which makes it seem like propaganda. Trying to trick people into not feeling guilty about doing bad things, rather focusing on other regrets.
..If I still have any strength left...on the day I think I'm gonna die, I'm gonna get the boss of the nursing-home (u know he's gonna be an asshole)...and get him in close to hear my croaky old voice, & I'll punch him too (one more for the road sort of thing)..I'll probably shatter my arthritic old fist on his face and not hurt him much more than shock, but it'll still count...
@Polarcupcheck THAT'd TOTALLY werk, we could time it to used our diminished strength together, and strangle him with our hospital tubes and shit...LULZ he'd shit his pants with two OAPs lunging ant him like zombies from either side.
being happy when you are not well becomes less of a conscious choice. putting on a brave smile is such hypocrisy when you are in pain 24-7, and its hard for others to understand what is happening to a "hooked" trout when you and the others swim freely. I just keep praying for those moments when it can come genuinely...in between the fake-it-till-you-make-it moments. Cheers

Living Legends - Nothing Less ft. Slug (Atmosphere)
[Slug]
The first step was birth
Now forever cursed to analyze his self-worth
The second step was belief
He had to make that move before he even grew teeth
The third step, respect awareness
He could trip over the next step if he's careless
ProthoPectore 2 months ago
That next step, number four, was love
Can't touch it without stepping the other three above
As he froze for a moment
Ignoring the remaining ones
He was approaching, focus stolen
Looking down at his hands to see what he was holding
Nothing, empty
No choice but to keep going
ProthoPectore 2 months ago
The fifth step felt like a misstep
It was a re-evaluation of the first four
The anxiety, fear of what it hurts for
Caught in somewhere between the earths core
And the first floor
When he finally made it to step six
He could no longer see it for what it is
All of his views and family and life were askew
Number six had been twisted by the previous two
ProthoPectore 2 months ago
The last step, the seventh
Was the only thing left that kept him outside of heaven
One last breath and everything could be pleasant
Life through death, man's final lesson

@WyldOrbit ...NO..Happibness is NOT the goal...the LULZ is the goal...always...the LULZ is the pointing out of whats wrong, and dealing with it by reaction, one way or another, but staying centred and letting the wrongdoer, often the narcisist, grow in hate, even encouraging it till they implode... the happiness u can carry thru into the darkest times and give to one another, & when the laughing is done the LULZ leads to reflection, and self-betterment, the LULZ is ALL.

@WyldOrbit Your right.

I totally disagree. It does not mention anything about the world as a whole. It is a self centered article which makes it seem like propaganda. Trying to trick people into not feeling guilty about doing bad things, rather focusing on other regrets.

5 things that wont be on my list.
5 wish I'd helped more animals (no more space)
4 wish I'd seen more of the world (seen loads already)
3 wish I'd know love (surrounded by it)
2 wish I'd smoked less weed.
1 wish I'd punched less assholes.
XD

..If I still have any strength left...on the day I think I'm gonna die, I'm gonna get the boss of the nursing-home (u know he's gonna be an asshole)...and get him in close to hear my croaky old voice, & I'll punch him too (one more for the road sort of thing)..I'll probably shatter my arthritic old fist on his face and not hurt him much more than shock, but it'll still count...
XD

@homerbear46 If I ever wind up in a nursing home, I want to room with you. We'll take turns beating his ass.

@Polarcupcheck THAT'd TOTALLY werk, we could time it to used our diminished strength together, and strangle him with our hospital tubes and shit...LULZ he'd shit his pants with two OAPs lunging ant him like zombies from either side.

Very nice, Linda. Many of us relate to at least some of the list.
Many ppl realize these things as they are happening but life gets in the way. We all have the 'shudda duns' or 'shudda not have duns'.

being happy when you are not well becomes less of a conscious choice. putting on a brave smile is such hypocrisy when you are in pain 24-7, and its hard for others to understand what is happening to a "hooked" trout when you and the others swim freely. I just keep praying for those moments when it can come genuinely...in between the fake-it-till-you-make-it moments. Cheers

Very interesting! I believe many people wouldn't have these regrets if they would develop self discipline and high self-esteem/a sense of worthyness.
