I just finished watching the 26-episode anime. THIS IS COMEDY GOLD!!!
The anime itself is in the same league/class as the even better gambling drama LIAR GAME. I will never see anything like KAIJI or LIAR GAME done in the West -- we don't have the proper mindset for it!
I'm GLAD I stumbled across this!!! :D
Now, somebody has to turn Azumanga Daioh into some sort of intense, high stakes gambling drama! :D
