Heard this song in a car commercial ages ago and fell in love with it, I was all "HELL YEAH!" in the theatre when I heard it in Zombieland. Awesome song, glad more people are falling in love with it like I did.
Just saw Zombieland for the third time and it KICKED ASS!! (again) searched for the music. This band touched my good string (translated/converted in dutch) haha
@CarlosAVal3 I think there are two members from Silversun Pickups in the video: the singer and the guy with the keyboards. I haven't found any infos about this clip but I'm pretty sure that they are the SP members.
I started listening to Sea Wolf about 3 years ago. Before Zombieland, Gossip Girls, and Twilight. I can easily say they are my favorite band. I even got to see them preform live at a small place in Grand Rapids. I'm just glad I found them, because if it wasn't for this band, I would have been introduced to half the music I've been listening to in the past 3 years. Thank you for changing my perspective on great music, Sea Wolf.
I'm addicted to this song...first time I heard it was a over a year ago on a commercial for a Chevy Malibu....and I haven't been able to get it outta my head since
@democide03 silversun pickups are a carbon copy of smashing pumpkins, and even though these guys are a one hit wonder sound nothing like either band names
@democide03 silversun pickups are a carbon copy of smashing pumpkins, and even though these guys are a one hit wonder sound nothing like either band named
as much as i hate to admit it, I found these guys through the New Moon soundtrack. Sure, you could call it "selling out", but that movie put a bunch of great bands on the map (specifically, that's how i found Band of Skulls...now my favorite band.)
this is an awesome song! i discovered this when i was four, i still listen to it every day and if i make a trip to the woods i listen it to on my i-pod. I JUST F*CKING LOVE IT!!!!!!
@lyndonrules well i think they are signed to dangerbird. maybe they both just joined up for a collabrotive effort for fun? can't think of any other correlation. other than the fact they both rock pretty hard.
@RedTestamentReborn SSPU and Sea Wolf are both on Dangerbird Records. I believe that is indeed Mr. Aubert although he might just be guesting on this song or even just in the video.
I'm almost 100% sure its him. The guy behind him playing the guitar looks exactly like Joe Lester the keyboardist from the Silversun Pickups, plus both bands are signed to the same lable, so it makes sense that its him. But i could be wrong :)
@CassieMeder I was wondering the exact same thing. But when I did hear it in Zombieland I got to sing along and realize the creator of this movie has great taste in music. :) They also played Band of Horses.
@pricelessposition I just like how indie can remain happily obscure and still be great music. Most mainstream music is not very great. But I'm not saying that once indie becomes popular it starts to sound bad. You just start to hear it over and over and over and over again. And it kind of ruins the beauty of its obscurity. Seawolf is my love, but when indie is put into movies... a part of it is killed. Sometimes you see the movie rather than what you felt when you first listened to it.
@CassieMeder dang! i hate to agree with you but you are so right bout your last sentence. i have to say though that I have discovered so many great artists because they were in soundtracks.
@CassieMeder you're fuckin stupid. there are mad good songs in t.v. shows and movies, but they would be the only time i would hear them in public. i don't see how it "ruins the beauty of indie music." personally, i get a big dick when indie songs are in shows or movies because it shows that even though they are indie, they are still liked around the country. and because i always have a big dick but thats another story nigga
@resisthexcept Care to elaborate on why you care that this was included in a movie soundtrack? Are you one of those intolerable people who can't stand it when artists they like get a tiny bit of mainstream exposure?
@resisthexcept Asking a simple question is starting shit? You were the person who decided to reply to my comment aimed at somebody else, Einstein. There is no valid reason for complaining about a song being put on a soundtrack unless it was used without permission or used in a propaganda film. Clearly you are one of those people who would rather see the artists they like struggle to pay their rent so you can hang on to some alternative imagine you've crafted for yourself.
@CassieMeder Because it's a great song. Don't be silly. Like Pricelessposition said. Why wouldn't they put good music in a good movie? I know if I made a movie I would put all my favorite music in there. And stop being so emo about your music. Music is meant to be heard. It's not yours.
when I first heard the twilight soundtracks, I was raging because of sea wolf and grizzly band being in there. but then I realized it was there because the director likes them, so kudos to him. but twilight is fucking retarted and i hate everything about it.(except the movie soundtracks.)
The lyrics "I'm runnin' on the northeast street, cut to the ocean before I run too low" really make me smile for some reason. It's how I feel a lot of the time when I'm in school, surrounded by a bunch of hormonal teens.
this video makes me think of the book " a great and terrible beauty" by libba bray.... if it was ever made into a movie, this song would definitely have to be in it.
