these guys were the super hero's i will always look mup to, when they had to build their own engines, chassis, drive their own trucks and trailers etc. not the helicopter flying pampered "superstars" we have today.

It's like your local suburban streets on a Saturday night these days. I do love how the recovery blokes just had to deal with race cars flying past them. Fuck pace cars. Great stuff!!!! I got into the V8s in 1979 as a 15yr old. Haven't looked back!!!! God I miss these characters...........

Awesome! Those cars would have been a lot harder to drive than todays cars and the course was a lot more dangerous...and they didint let silly things like yellow flags slow em down either, lol!

The XD-X Fords, the Chevy Camaro, the Brock Commodores and all the household names we adored i.e. Grice, Bartlett, Morris, Johnson, Carter, Brock, Fury, Masterton.....*sigh* I so wanted to go back in time......
