I met Mr. Gafney just outside of Prescott, AZ. I am sad to hear of his death. He was a great American and he will be missed!

This man is a hero. I am a bike rider and the furthest i have gone, on a road bike, has been 100 miles in one day. How this man got so far is an amazing tale.  Thanks to his friends and family for posting. We should finish the ride for him and someone should contact the Ghost Bike people to erect a "ghost bike" monument on the spot where Jim went down. God bless and RIP brave warrior.
