Those red spike Mundus used in the 1st few minutes kinda reminds me of Lucifer's sword in DMC4.

Nothing is as powerful as Sparda. That form Dante has is only a result of the power given to him by Sparda (the sword). Dante's Majinform in DMC2 MIGHT have been able to beat Mundus, but Sparda destroyed armies. Dante isn't at his level.

Sparda could destroy demons with his aura. Just his presence could destroy devils. Dante is not that strong.

@godhand340 His aura alone couldn't kill tougher demons, like Mundus. His sword was also necessary for sealing stuff away, like the tower in DMC3.

There may be two reasons for Griffin saying that: Either because Dante killed him while Sparda spared him (apparently multiple times), or because he was delusional from him being near death.

The first one is more likely because even after 2000 years, Griffin still holds a grudge against Sparda.

the sparda you see here is not THE SPARDA, but dante's "ultimate form" in original concept... you can notice he got extra spikes on his horns(even a new sword)

it's a common misunderstanding about the game like how ppl think about dmc1's "legandary dark knight". i been a crazy fan since it first releashed, and i just feel like to helpout ppl about it

when you fought griffon(the giant bird), it stated that dante is powerful and maybe even more powerful than sparda...

it's an honorable ancient demon, so it's quite reliable to trust it's commenting to dante...
