Just commenting on the grammar: yes, it is correct to say "so-and-so and *I*" when it is the subject. But as the object here it is correct to say "so-and-so and me." The way to know the difference is to remove the other party, ie. you would say "there is a clear difference with *me*", not "difference with *I*". Thus it becomes "difference between Patty and *me*."

As for Bachmann herself, I sincerely hope she is never the nominee, because then I will be forced to vote against her no matter what.

I grew up (well, from age 10, anyway) in Rochester, which was becoming steadily more liberal throughout the late '90s and '00s.
