  • my monitor turned off when i clicked this vid :D

  • the video card is not powerful enough to render that many pixels. That's the reality.

  • @ImperialArmour That's why most of the same iMacs render it without any problem.

  • @TheMetalblade actuly mine work fine. the only thing is when i instal vista on it with bootcamp it started flicking. so i unstall it and waiting for a solution

  • uhm .. i think ur camera is flickering :P

  • Hum, for $2200 dollars spend, you get to take part in Apple's 1st gen 27" experiment. Or, build yourself a stable Core2Duo Hackintosh for half as much.

  • That's just the new extended desktop feature. Enjoy!

  • idiot↓↓

  • @otyroo2 *Points to BSOD* There is a reason that Microsoft includes the blue screen of death in every operating system which they provide :)

  • @matg41192200 BSOD was added mainly so that over-clocking (you can look up what that means later if you use a Mac) will not damage hardware due to heat or power consumption.

  • @kiashadowwave There are several reasons why a windows computer would receive a BSOD - Overclocking is not the only cause. I remember several of my teachers with 'new' hardware experiencing BSODs during powerpoint presentations. Several HP laptops cannot get into SATA mode, and receive BSODs as users try to load Windows XP onto it.

  • no they don't,see the date he posted this video,he must have bought it when it was realeased (its a defect)

  • Sometimes apple sucks :(

  • send it back to wherever you bought it and get it replaced for free

  • flickier flicker flicker. Ja da flickert er endlich wieder der jute alde macundtosch.Und sag mal hatt es sich den gelohnt für das geflickere 2000€ auszugeben?

  • is it possible to install windows on this model? is the problem there also?

  • i would be pissed!

  • They fixed the error with a software update, I though it was a hardware problem.

  • @IMPMAC the update does nothing..the problem supposedly is with a cable connection

  • Cable connection? So hitting it might fix it

  • there is a software patch that fixes the problem. it worked for me!!

  • @jon6544 it'll probably come back

  • whats it called ?

  • The iMacs ATI video card is literally cooking inside a poorly ventilated case and screen flicker is the result. ATI video cards notoriously run hot even in a well ventilated case. To say ATI's need extra ventilation is an understatement.

  • ive had mine 2 weeks and it started doing this, not that consistant, maybe once everytime im on it. ill wait a few weeks till they actually fix the problem to send it in.

  • Mine is flickring too! I just got my iMac 27 i7 yesterday and I was so excited, now I'm left with this defect, this sucks

  • I have the same problem

  • Austraila UPDATE delivery of 27 inch iMac

Well, got a phone call today from Domayne, who said they spoke to their Apple rep. Bad news they tell me. No delivery until mid January 2010!!

    The reason??

Apple is having major hardware problems with the graphics card of this model and are not shipping any more until the problem is resolved. So they have actually admitted to a problem!

Domayne tell me even their display model plays up all day with the screen flickering and blacking out.

  • iMac is better with games now! :D perfect for me!

  • wow thats weird! thats why u shouldnt trust such stock monitors from apple or other pc manufacturers. try asus monitors, should work well on macs though.

  • Don't warry Metalblade.

You have 14 days for replace it.

Now i'm very happy and this iMac is a great product!!

  • Mine has flickered three times in the last 6 days, all minor like at 0:18 but it's going back for a REFUND regardless. Apple has NOT fixed this issue yet so an exchange is pointless.

  • Yeah. But idk. At least all these replacements will force them to respond and fix this issue. So far, they're quite as hell.

  • Yeah mine flickers constantly and also the screen blacks out completely for a split second whilst i'm using it! Really annoying! At first I thought it was a problem connected to the wireless mouse system, but obviously not?! My screen is flickering so much, watching your video, that I can't work out if i'm seeing your flickers or mine!!!!

  • Yeah mine flickers constantly and also the screen blacks out completely for a split second whilst i'm using it! Really annoying! At first I thought it was a problem connected to the wireless mouse system, but obviously not?!

  • Apple replaced it with a new one.

    The new is ok!

  • My iMac does the exact same thing. I am going to call Apple.

  • Same problem with my new (3 day old) 27" quad-core iMac. Problem did not occur yesterday when I worked on it most of day.

  • thats just cuz the screen is cold...

happens to mine in the winter.

  • is that the quad core modle

  • No doubt. You should contact Apple and get that replaced. It doesn't look like a software issue where an update down the line will help you out.

  • Yes, I have the Mac OS X 10.6.2 (10C540)

  • you should definitely get it replaced

  • have you updated your os to 10.6.2?
