Yes, Frederick does play well, but I didn't manage to get a full piece recorded, and the audio quality was poor. But thanks very much for commenting, and I agree it would have been better with his own playing. Next time I see him, I will get a good recording!
Actually, I had googled Karen Gomyo to see and hear her play the violin. My daughter and Karen were in the same violin studio and were the same age together here in Montreal, Canada 18 years ago as little 10 year olds. My daughter was good but Karen was unbelievably talented. At age 10 she went off to Juillard to study violin with Dorothy Delay...and the rest is history! Karen tours the world. So bravo on your excellent choice of music!
Indeed Karen Gomyo's talent is unbelievable. Frederick is also quite talented but it will require better audio recording skills to do him justice. And I am very grateful to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for making Karen's performance available on-line under a Creative Commons license. All the best and happy holidays,
You should have just used Frederick's playing. I can see that he actually plays the violin since he has good form. I'll bet that he plays well.
