Whether he liked it or not, he was still a part of that whole slew of early new wave. Besides, on more than one occasion he has cited Ultravox (the first three albums) as being a huge influence. Specifically "new romantic" or not, again he was still in the same vein as those other bands.

One of my favorite Orgy songs. Definitely one of the best from Candyass. It's hard to believe it's been 13 years since this album came out. I remember being blown away by them, because they were completely unlike anything else around at the time. Being a HUGE fan of the early 80s new romantics (stuff like Ultravox, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, The Human League, Gary Numan, etc) and other stuff like Depeche Mode I loved how Orgy were kind of a throwback to that era, but were still innovative.

@RockyBalboa7777 Pretty sure Gary Numan wasn't a new romantic, especially given the fact that he thought "These new romantics are oh so boring/I could swear I've been there once or twice before" (Moral, from Numan's Dance, 1981).

ANYWAY....

I, too, like Orgy, but they remind me too much of Nine Inch Nails/any of the other legions of the Trentoids that were rampant in the 90's.
