I did some research and found out this lake had some history. Other than this Dodge and Warren Chevrolet, there had been several other incidents. A women was mudered and thrown into the lake in 1937 and found by fisherman in 1940 in "soap" like state. An ambulance with an injured logger sank with the logger in 1960 and a group of people at some point dumped the frames of cars they had taken parts from in there. The Warren car was found and so were the remains of Russell, and DNA proved it.
It just goes to show you how well built cars were in the 30's, 40's, and 50's. It's interesting how it became a "time capsule" like the 1957 Belvedere. It seems more of the items lasted.

that dodge is in exceptional condition for being underwater for over 40 years, I bet its restorable! the sunglasses are amazing survivors!!

That's because this is a cold fresh water lake. There is little or no corrosion and biological decay is also reduced.

The Dodge appears to be in much better condition than the ill-fated '57 Belvedere entombed on Oklahoma.
