What a nice video! I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I have always wanted and plan on having a natural birth, no drugs. Your video makes me cry :-) What is the name of the song?
Great video! We're using a midwife for our first birth (next month), but are looking to unassisted birth in the future. You're an inspiration! Blessings~
Wow, what a beautiful video. I cried for your nephew. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. :( And then to see your victorious second delivery-- just beautiful!!! Congratulations!
Your baby girl is absolutely beautiful, and the video is inspiring. I know exactly how you feel about your first birth, and how the bitterness can affect you. My oldest will be 18 in two weeks, and was born c-section after 17.5 hrs of labor. My second (he'll be 12 tomorrow) was born thru planned c-section after the docs didnt think I should try vbac. To this day I dream of what a natural birth would have been like...congratulations to you and your beautiful family.
Congratulations on your wonderful VBAC. I also had a traumatic csection after hours of broken water bag...Is tehre any blog so that we could see new pictures of your lvely girl
I too recently gave birth to my second child by VBAC. I too had a horribly tramatic csection and a fabulous delivery afterwards! Congratulations to you and your family and thank your baby girl for this healing power only birth can bring.
Thank you for such a wonderful video and for giving me hope. I, too, hope for a VBAC (due in only two days). Congratulations... she is beautiful! And, I am very sorry for the loss of your nephew. Bless you all!
This video brought tears to my eyes in that it is both joyful and painful. I'm so glad you realied on your own knowledge and education the second time around rather than listened to the medical community once again, especially ln light of a previous C-Section. Your unassisted birth was so beautiful. I am so sorry about your nephew. He was a beautiful angel and he is waiting patiently for all of you to join him.
I too was unhappy with my first birth. Now I am 22 weeks pregnant, and because of your video, I am determined to have the natural birth I always wanted. Thank you for sharing your very moving story. Bless you all.
This video is so beautiful...and your little children are really cute too. This really touched my heart, specially for that little angel called Isaac. I loved this!
This was a wonderful video. I am on my third pregnancy and planning on having an unassisted home birth. My first was born in a birth center in Massachusettes my second was a home birth when I lived in Africa, with a midwife I had never seen prior to my birth, so if figured this one should be unassited. I'm a little nervous, but you video gave me courage. You were so strong and your baby is so beautiful (both your children are). Thank you for Sharing this.
Heather, its Katie, Jaimes friend and yours. I Love you guys soo much your whole family is pretty much my family too. Your a very strong woman to give birth at moms house with no drugs or anything. I look up to you in a way. The kids are Beautiful.
This was awesome!!!! Did you have a midwife or was it toatlly on your own? I had a cection with my son who is now almost 3, and it was totally unnecessary. I am now 14 weeks and planning a home birth. You give me inspiration.
OMG, thank you so much for sharing, Vbacs are such a beautiful healing experince. I had one this past March. I wish I had been brave enough to stay home. Instead I went to the hospital and refused a c-section 3 times. It was still beautiful and wouldn't trade it for the world!! Congrats!!! Next time I'm gonna do it at home with the people I love no outside interfernce!! Thank you so much for sahring this video touched my heart and made me cry!!! All the best
I had never really thought of how my c-section had effected me, yes I resented it, but not allowed to really speak my mind about it, as if I should just be grateful for my healthy baby. I wasn't in labor for that long either. But my husband was sure it was meant to be since the baby had the chord around her neck when she was brought out. Was your husband/husbands family accepting of your decision to give birth this way?
My husband, definantly. His parents thought I was nuts but stayed out of it. We didn't give them much of a choice and they live a long ways from us.
Our c-section experience was not only unnecessary but severely traumatizing for both of us, we worked together to overcome our fears and birth the way we felt we needed to.
I found the first thing I had to do to have a positive birth was to mourn the loss of my first experience, and allow myself to feel it all.
Actually, you are SORELY mistaken. My nephew never received any vaccines at any time during his life. It was a simple tragedy, nothing more. The coroner said his was such a total demise that within 15 seconds he was already gone and beyond saving. SIDS happens to all kids, no matter how crunchy or uncrunchy the mom. It's not ANYONES fault.
Congratulations on your beautiful family! Your video touched me deeply. My daughter was born at 25 weeks via emergency c-section. Having been planned as a homebirth, I felt a deep sense of loss. She is now 3.5 years old and while I struggle with infertility, I hope that if I ever do become pregnant again, I can have a VBAC homebirth with my family. Thank you for inspiring me.
I am so touched and inspired by this that I actually cried. My best friend had both of her children by c-section and recieved a non-consensual tubal after the second. I have had 1 hospital birth and 2 UC's, and am thankful for my healthy children and peaceful births. Thank you for sharing your inspiring experience.
Thank you for sharing that. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and I am planning an unassisted home waterbrith. My first 2 were in the hospital and were total nightmares. I was however able to give birth without a c-section however they gave me an episiotomy both times and I think that they were not needed. I trust myself, my body, and my little girl enough to let me know if there is something wrong.
Thank you for sharing your story. I was unfortunately unable to have a successful VBAC. I am however thankful that both of my boys are happy and healthy.
They told you to have a C-section after only 20 hours of labor? Most women are in labor for days with their first!
