  • its like minecraft/terraria in REAL LIFE!

  • Over half a million dollars? Jesus, that's lucky compared to here.

  • Dam it now she my kind of woman.I sure would like to hook up with her..Only thing is I live in a tent.

  • Why couldnt I find a woman like her 15 yrs ago

  • Comment removed

  • Well done! You are a real inspiration!

  • Smart/Sexy

  • Jenine is soo cute. :-)

  • Florida would never allow it. To many cold please fuddee dudles here.

  • Her place is awesome. Her lifestyle is awesome, and she is very sexy!

  • This is a good variation on a theme, a scenario more about lifestyle than shelter. The main

problems, electricity, running water, where do you empty your toilet and so on. Mini homes like

this seem like they would be much more practical out in the country or woods. An alternative

might be an old winnebago or camper trailer, couldn't be much difference in cost. I'm too much

of a pack rat to make it in that world, but good luck anyways, may your flame never go out.

  • Your background looks like my old neighborhood in San Jose e Calif. Can you tell me where this was shot????

  • Hot green chicks rock...

  • I love it. Could it be made cat friendly for totally indoor cats? I want to go small and mobile. But I have cats. I also seriously need a good working oven as I bake. I wonder also if the roof could be fixed to hold large containers of dirt for growing some of your own veggies. I see you have what appears to be home canned foods on your shelving. I love to can. You could grow lettuce and green beans and tomatoes. Maybe even squash!

  • This video is inspirational

  • Fold out steel frame that can serve as hammock rack over head roof and screen for a delightful out door space that would double your floor space. Make hooks for hammocks inside too if it is too cold for outdoor hammocks you can shelter more people inside using hammocks. Outdoor shower? Composting toilet is a plus too. My mother built her own home of sorts she got a home that was trashed she redid it and lived there until the fire? I want to see somebody convert a wrecked prius ! Ron Paul 2012.

  • i have a different version of that book (colors and no little page grooves) from 1950 too!

got them from my Grandpa who built their home decades ago by himself

  • awesome!

  • 3:04 fart

  • many haters. Shame for them. I like your tiny home and big imagination.

  • that thing cost $3500! i've seen people build way bigger stuff than that with the same price

  • "land is so expensive here". then move somewhere else you dumb bitch.

  • in a town where someone doesnt believe in spending around 2 to 5 grand in college to make over 18hr she decides to probably flip burgers for the rest of her life and live in a $3500 home

  • I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How can this be made practical for the typical homeowner? If you live within codes, have children, need room for personal belongings beyond a few sets of clothes and small goods, have uptight neighbors, live in the North, (etc.) how can this scale to become mainstream? Where did you live before building this tiny home?

  • @jeffdustin I don't think Jenine thinks it's for everybody. In fact she said if she wasn't still fairly itinerant she wouldn't have built something on wheels. Actually before this home she lived on a bike for 2 years or so in Asia doing puppet theater. She showed me an amazing photo of her bike loaded with all her gear for living (everything had its place).

  • 2:06..mmmm mmmmm mmm yum!!

  • @ella5024 That's all that remains of the man who told her she couldn't do it!

  • Very nice. I'm in the process of converting a school bus right now, which obviously has its own challanges. Keep up the good work!

  • blog and write a book :) then you can build your dream house.

  • Would I trust living in something some hipster gypsy, without any architecture and engineering education, built in her backyard? ... no.

  • Very impressive. Nice little home.

  • I love everything about the house and its builder, except for the human spinal collum on the wall. Please give that thing a decent burial. Thank you.

  • @steve64h Isn't that gross? I do respect her very much for what she has done though.

  • what a sweet women...:)

  • you are awesome. Very cool person.

  • make, try, create

  • you

    are

    adorable

  • HUMPERDINK humperdink humperdink HUMPERDINK. if you get this it looks like there are other sad lonely people just like you.

  • I wish the roof in my place opened up like that. Nice feature!

  • not to rain on the parade, but how does all of this fit in with building codes, zoning regulations and dot regulations ? sweet little unit but, no matter how sweet the unit, you still need your own land to put it on or else you are stuck paying rent all over again.

  • @xanthoman01 since the house is under 400 sf it is considered a recreational trailer like an rv and it is not held to the same building codes or zoneing regs that other structures are. as far as renting land there are areas of the country where she would be rentingg a small plot to park it for as little as $145 a month in some areas it will be more but it will still cost considerably less than an apt or home. There is always the freinds back yard that might cost even less.

  • Very cool. Props.

  • I love her!! :D

  • 9 people at once....i bet that chamber pot was lovely

  • You had me untill I saw the hairy armpits!!!

  • @shiningredtruck lol. that's gross. so very gross.

  • I think that this girl is amazing. She's probably going to continue to do equally outstanding things. Enigmatic is the term that comes to my mind right now. And in the context of today's society, that is a high compliment.

  • This very cool and smart!! You get to move whereever you want and take your space with you!!

  • she is a very natural girl, far removed from todays plastic clones, regarding piss in the chamber pot, mate get your self a modern bitch who will piss all over you

  • shave arm pits please!

  • Just saying its a waste of time and yes I have built alot of WORTHWHILE projects that were rewarding and they didnt include a chamber pot with the piss still in it.

  • I've been looking into this for a while now, and while my wife would NEVER approve of living small ... I could build something small & independent for my daughter for when she wants to move out so that she can live without a HUGE rent payment every month.

  • Ha you can get a nice travel trailer camper used for under $3500 and not have to buy all the lights and is legal to haul down the road with a real toilet and kitchen. Just saying why waste your time and energy when its already available?

  • @coolstuff471 Those are the words of someone who has never built something with their own hands. Value takes on a whole new meaning when you put your soul into a project.

  • @coolstuff471 because that's not the point.

  • that it to cool congrats on it.

  • I believe that is just luxury shack.

  • Hey,

You should totally pull the wheels off your trailer and buy a pontoon deck boat with no deck components and turn this into a houseboat. Most lakes have public access and no one owns the middle of a lake. You could fish and party all summer. Dang, I'm gonna start on one of these today!

  • @billydkid5 or get some free or cheap 50 gallon watertight drums off craigslist..lol; weld them to the bottom of the trailer and raise the axle so you could put the wheels on and still tow it; in case u wanna change lakes

  • Love the hut, but what it rains?

  • I love this girl,

  • Im sure this is already illegal. Can't be having people avoid the high-cost of living.

  • Great Job.. Just a little paint on the outside and PRESTO!

  • U r amazing. The rich woudnt understand how hard it is to live as a poor human being. In america, if u r poor, u r an outcast of the society.

  • @timphiey If you are poor in America , well , that's something

  • there was pee in her toilet lol

  • Wonderful job on the house and video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Amazing....................................

  • 1:48 THANKS FOR THE BLAST!

  • What a woman, she is so cute and so resourceful in one great body :).

  • i love that the window opens.....

  • she is sooo cute.

  • Im teasing ya did a nice job! but maybe a sum plumping like a water waste system simple and less stinky ;)

  • its a lil stinky from the pee LOL

  • very nice, love it!

  • YOu might consider a big gyroscope on the floor for long trips to stop it from tipping over in cross winds. you could even put strain gauges on the sides of the gyroscope to detect torque.

  • Your an amazing person.. Good for you.. Keep up the great work!!

  • i bet she smells bad

  • People just need an affordable place to live, and you're doing it. You're awesome and I love your ingenuity!

  • A wonderful job! There's nothing like having your plans become reality, particularly from your own design. What fun.

  • well must give her credit on a great job. were i live the price of land or a house is just insane. this is a great way of looking at a solution to beat the high cost of land

  • am not a hippie and this lifestyle is for me

  • She is a hippie so this lifestyle is perfect for her.

  • I respect what you did and appreciate the € 3500 part of the story. However I'd rather spend twice as much and not have the house smell like piss.

  • make sure the roof doesn't fly away in strong wind

  • This is my kind of woman : ) I am very impressed and a little infatuated.

  • for those 26 dislikes ,I fart on you...:)

  • wow ur amazing

  • Smart woman!

  • Brilliant!

  • For book lovers that live in small houses I have some advice. Get the books you absolutely have to have and get the rest on a Kindle!

  • I think ur hot I love hippy chicks.

  • get a job

  • Where I'm from, Habersham county, GA, this wouldn't be considered a home. The government in this screwed up place would send you a kind notice in the mail telling you to get the "eyesore" out of YOUR yard or else you'll be fined. It seems unless you're a ditzy-assed soccer mom or a millionaire retiree, they don't want you around. It's class warfare and it SUCKS! I grew up here and it really hurts to see such a beautiful place go to absolute shit.

  • I thought i was LOW budget

  • I have been researching this kind of living. After the fanatical crisis it makes sense to go small and not larger. Large makes you a mortgage slave for a long time, small gives you freedom. A small house and a scooter(vespa type) for the summer and a bus pass for the winter and you can live well within your means.

  • 1:48 RIP headphone users.

  • @ttremblay319 too funny

  • Where does she take showers?

  • Gahhh this is so freakin retarded. For $3500 you can buy nice camper or 5th wheel.

  • I'm digging it, cool place =)

  • Well done Sister (-:

  • @balok3 Pretty sure she is a lefty....so dont hold your breath. but if she isnt and she does want to marry and procreate she will need to start by shaving her arm pits....im jussayin.

  • @stephenwism -- crawl back in the hole you came out of, brain boy.

  • Wow! Nice house! You are one inventive young lady!

  • This is great.... ive often wanted to try my hand at a micro home/ container home or something of this nature but ive chosen to use a camper instead. To me it just seems easier but i love the thought of this and hope to try one day

  • yeh deafen me with the occasional bell sound ten times louder than you speakin why don't ya

  • if you have a human spine in your "house" your crazy :)

  • GOOD for you! Smart woman! :)

  • Right on lady more power to you.

  • Very Cool! Love it. Very Homey. I have always wanted to convert shipping containers into minimalist housing - want a second floor - add another container! And they're totally mobile since they're made for transport. Question: Have you ever had any trouble from house inspectors or any trouble moving it on public roadways? Keep up the good work - wish there were more people who realized how little they really need to be happy. :)

  • @BillGoose1313 I looked into shipping-containers, and since they already know people are using them for housing, the price are sky-high on even beat-up ones, I know some years ago they were given away for free and even recycled for their metal, now they are "unaffordable" :(

  • @SantosRegal That's a shame. Seems like someone is always ready to take advantage in the name of profit. I guess when we are forced to live in cardboard boxes someone will open a "Bedless, Bathless, and Beyond" - "For All Your Homeless Needs"! LOL Have a good one. :)

  • nice home,

may b u need a place for shower.

  • Q D π !

  • This music is from an Online Gamer episode lol

  • What a lovely home! The raised sofa/bed area with the storage beneath it is a really great use of space. What a fantastic idea. Your chamber pot was very cute! :) I plan to build a small separate but connecting closet/toilet room w/ a composting toilet that you can access from inside the room (via closet) or outside (so you can use it without coming inside). I love this beautiful house you made! Thank you for sharing your home!

  • So, like.... Can I marry you?

  • I just notice something to share with the owner if I may. How about replacing the kitchen with a 5'-0" wide stove, sink and refrigator combination unit and enclose the corner where the stove is located now, with a portable toilet (About $2,000 ! ), keeping the toilet out of sight? I liked your raised roof idea though. It is very unique and it is very good in the summer time with a fabric mosquito screen attached to it ! George Wu, AIA

  • From 3:07 ,I got an idea to use my drawers from the garbage dump to be hung from the wall to store stuff. I always liked to cantilever out elements in the past. One time I conceptualized an 18-story apartment building with bay windows projecting randomly and was built several blocks near where I retired now. Interesting looking to cast shadows ! From the video, the beautiful lady shows that she is a good designer ! George Wu, AIA 2012-1-13

  • @georgewu5 Pre-drilled house 12' x36' with two bedrooms, full bath and full kitchen, living ding room with cathedral ceiling . 10" and 6" insulation all around the house. any un-skilled person can tighten up the bolts and nuts to make a house is my latest idea for New Orleans and Haiti, and possibly for the rest of the 99% of the population ! Years ago, I hand -build a 3,000 square feet building this way. I know I could do it with less money spent on a house !. George Wu, AIA 2012-1-13

  • @georgewu5 For highway transport of the pre-fab houses of 10' ( not 12' ) x36' in three separate sections, join two houses at right angle together to make (2) 2-bedroom houses or (1) 3-br and (1) 2-br apartments. I do not have to tell you how cheap it is ! You will find out it is only a fraction of the traditional houses! George Wu, AIA 2012-13

  • Great job Jenine! For anyone else wanting free help on building your own home, check out our youtube channel, Armchairbuilder

  • I need to meet a girl like this, she's awesome.

  • @jeffreysanto exactly my thought xD she is wonderfulllll

  • Okay. That is my new dream home..... Plus a bathroom....

  • It's wonderful.

  • This...is...so...cool,lol!

  • Very inspirational

  • i m going get my small house stuff frome finger hut

  • Im sure the other neighbors are thrilled.

  • i love you sooo much, thanks for sharing.

  • not only creative, smart, and totally awesome, but she can point out where everything in her home came from and a story behind it. I think this is truly amazing and I wish I had the courage and willpower to do something like this!

  • Very cool.

  • Where do you poop?

  • am i the only one who thinks living in this space would be MISERABLE!

  • Very Cool!!!!! Thank you for sharing this.

  • Great inspiring example of "Do what you can, with what you've got, where you are"

  • Comment removed

  • Ok... I`m from Romania and I admire you. Some skill you have there... Yes, I would have done the same thing, as you just did for yourself, IF I was in your shoes. Now you have the guts for thouse with 1 milion $! You just took them down! I LOVE YOU!!! DON`T GIVE UP!!! I LIKE YOU,re style!!!

  • Wow! I like it, but I'd want to modify the chamber pot to flush to the exterior, I couldn't hang out after I fowled that! hehe! But most certainly you are neat and an inspiration!

  • I made my first shed last year, it was fun! I would love to make a small house too!

  • Subscribed.

  • If 10% of the people of the 'occupy' movement were this creative and outgoing, you wouldn't need to protest anything. Change comes from the individual, not government or corporations. As soon as we the people take charge of how we consume and spend our time, the sooner the government and corporations will change with us. Lead by example, not complaining!

  • @walperstyle so true!

  • Awesome

  • She should shave her armpits....

  • @SinInfamy why? because you say so? because society says so? she obviously doesn't care what she "should" do according to what everyone else chooses to do, or else she wouldn't be living the way she is living. she has done this incredible thing and is sharing all the insight she has gained from that experiance with the world and all you can say after watching the video is "she should shave her armpits..." just think about that for a second.

  • @AshyMishyMashy I did think about it. And i still think she should shave her armpits... Don't like my opinion? Don't have to reply then.

  • @AshyMishyMashy I mean yeah, she built her own cheap DIY home and that's cool and all, but that's my personal opinion, not societies, or anyone elses. I couldnt give a shit what anyone else thinks about her. No need to preach or anything like a butthurt little girl. I have a feeling you don't shave either.

  • @AshyMishyMashy ya, it's called GROOMING..

  • That's amazing.

  • But still I can't blame her! She is VERY innovative.

  • Her house is as big as my closet!!! Poor people these days :P

  • @APPLExpertPlus

It depends what you place value on .If you value freedom , and ease of management , a small space can be quite inspiring for ones life . Years back , I lived in a modified van for 24 months , by choice . I now live in a 3500 sq foot house .I honestly can't say my quality of life has improved by living in a bigger space . In a small mobile space ,there is an agility of mind and freedom which is hard to experience living in a big stationary home.

  • why is there a human backbone and pelvis in her kitchen area, is she like Ed Gein or something

  • what's her blog?

  • @avalanchesoul Her blog is forgeahead . org. Or you can click on the original story (in the text) and there's a link there as well.

  • @kirstendirksen thanks!

  • The human mind is a terrible thing to waste. Being poor really brings out the genius in all of us. If you are not in the top 1% income earners, welcome to the club, and get creative like this young lady has done.

  • Love the house and what you've done inside with it. It looks so cozy. You gave me some good ideas. Thanks for sharing your story. You rock!

  • I love this girl! Where do I find some one like her to marry?

  • sooooo awesome!

  • did you have any problems from the city's zoning department or complaints from your neighbors?

  • Just awesome! Don't ever loose that free spirit!

  • That is so cool and so cheap! She's making good use of her space and her money. I mean it looks so cozy and nice :)
