it's a tax on motorists, you aren't forcing people to pay the gas tax, you are enforcing tax law. If you make the oil companies pay the tax they will just pass the cost back to...yes, you guessed it, the motorists.

It's pandering, pure and blatant. You may as well say "I'm going to cancel all taxes! Everything will be free! Wheee!!" but it wouldn't be any less BS.

This gas tax business is all fine and good, I guess, but when are we ever going to stop twiddling our thumbs and enter the 21st century? Germany has legislated incentives for its citizens to convert to wind and solar energy. What are we waiting for? Do our Senators/Reps have no backbone at all to do what's in the interest of the American people? Why should oil companies care how much we pay for gas when they know that we HAVE to pay it because the majority of citizens have no alternative?

A "Tax Holiday" of 25 cents a gallon? Gas prices are currently rising at the alarming rate of over a penny a day. Is she praying Americans are stupid? In less than a month prices will be at where they were before. Then, after the so-called "vacation", there will be a price JUMP of 25 cents per gallon. Oh most Americans wont think THAT much about it, most are too stupid. Meanwhile, what this tax FUNDS are JOBS. Our infrastructure is falling apart, bridges are collapsing and we want to do what?!?
