@ProgressiveAudio video stores can be done @ a neighborhood level and be successful like the one that opened up in Mid-town memphis called Black Lodge Video. they even have shit netflix don't have and know more shit about movies then any employee that ever existed that worked @ a Blockbuster.
it just takes a true movie buff to open up something like that video stores just have to be a library/neighborhood thing
@odog65 I actually think things like Netflix are the way to go, because they are efficient. But I grew up in the 90s, so sentimentally I do miss walking into video stores to rent movies and games.
@ProgressiveAudio Netflix definately get convience points it can use features like the way you want to arragnge you instant queque when they'll take down what's in your instant queque. do they have an app. for that outside of RoKu for experation and coming soon. Netflix could use an overhaul in features.
My mom told me I was in a Blockbuster commercial back in the early 90's. They wanted me because I looked like the kid from Home Alone. Wish I could find it on youtube..
Not All Blockbuster Stores are closing on some areas. Some of the Blockbuster Store are Still Open because of the deal 28 Days of New Releases on Blu Ray & DVD Before Netflix & Redbox.
I got my first laserdisc player in 1993, and got The Wizard of Oz box set for Christmas that year from my parents. Getting a VHS tape would've been like getting a lump of coal from Santa!
@DanTheMan33088 its stil lhere.. and isnt going no where...with dish network now with blockbuster.. there gonna get streaming online... and free movies till the end of august
For me, as a kid, Blockbuster was an experience it was within walking distance of my family's house so we would walk there for fun. Then I would take next to forever to pick out a movie. It was my favorite thing to do so it really made me sad when that store closed down after netflix became popular.
@jackedsamurai772 me to you just said everthing that was thing that was to me. it would take me like foever to pick out a game or a movie mostly a games. so my mom just told me to walk down to blockbuster and pick everything out and just call her but that is no more sadly. and funny thing is everyone knew me over there so i would just walk in and get what i want no matter if it was rated R or M they would let me get it. damn netflix i whish that blockbuster was still open by me

This is purely sentiment, but its sad to see retail video stores and such go the way of the dinosaur. I'm only 22 and I already feel old...

Wouldn't it be great if you could just pick random shit off the shelves and hand them out as holiday gifts? Awesome commercial. I miss the old days.

So the internet has ravished the rental industry...but it's fun being just old enough to feel the difference between then and now.
