  • if you need to keep pop growth low is it okay to have happiness at -1 to -3 or so once you are done settling new cities?

  • @Buttrageous

If you want. As long as you don't fall to -10 or more, you're only getting the growth limitation. There's no reason to worry if you're just under 0 happiness.

  • have you ever had the glitch where you worker will keep working on a road until you click "build road" again? because i get it 100% of the time which makes large drawn out games tedious as hell

  • what is your opinion of settling on luxury resources?

  • Damn, that city location in the south looks delicious. I would have ignored my military, get a settler over there asap and lose the game. ^^

  • Any idea why your warrior could not enter the city-state (Stockholm) territory at 17:20? I experienced this a few weeks ago, but assumed it was a bug since there shouldn't ever be a reason why you can't enter a CS (since Open Borders only applies to the full civ's).

  • so whats the strategy behind the puppet empire. Keep them low pop with tp spam? How do you get enough happyness for them

  • @ristoril I guess the thing is you really cant control what they build so, don't they just keep building and building

  • @ristoril

generally, yeah, TP spam. They build markets/banks consistently, so it's generally a good plan.

lower pop is important, but once you can gain Organized Religion/Meritocracy, the monument/temple and trade route cover the 3 unhappiness/city. as long as the pop is low, you can ensure happiness buildings cover the rest.

  • @SBFMadDjinn will the cost from them pumping out buildings start to overtake the amount they generate?

  • @ristoril

not generally. Since the cities are production limited (always take the high gold tiles), they take a very long time to build non-market/bank/culture buildings; which they prefer (aside from maintenance free walls/etc).

Plus, you still get trade route income, so it takes a long time before they threaten the gold output.

  • Do you ever play civ multiplayer?

  • @thetom54

yup. My twitch.tv channel has a couple test games there (figuring out what software works for me) and I play MP on Saturday nights with the Polycast crew. Once in awhile, I also play in a weekly game with some other people.

  • You could consider dropping the city in the south (the reef-city) right on top of the 4 horses.

  • 7:24 Forgive me if it's a stupid question, but what does the red exclamation mark mean?

Never had it appear in any of my games (then again I'm never on Deity...)

  • @TheChrisD that just means he has more units than his cities can support, so his cities loose 10% production until he resolves it.

  • @TheChrisD He's over the limit of units that his population can supply. Every unit (worker, soldier, ship, plane, etc.) counts against a limit that increases with population. Going over the limit causes a penalty to production.
