This song was on the album "Paint a Rainbow in Your Heart" as well. The music on that album is beautiful and ridiculously high quality for a children's album. :D And Bettina Bush..... what an amazing singer at such a young age!
I had the Happy Birthday Buddy Blue cassette too. But i cant find it no more. Thanks sooo much for putting this song in here. I loved it as a kind and still can sing it :-)
OMG! I LOVED this song! I had a itty bitty album with the cute lil cover and everything! I was an instant ballerina and could hit ALL the high notes! Oh I was a singer! LOL!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who lived on this song as a child! I downloaded it years ago, got it on three mix CDs and five backup discs to make sure i never lose it again. :D
THIS IS SOOO AMAZING!!!! I have looked for this for years! I want this whole tape again! Even better, the CD!!! Plus the yellow CareBears album. Any ideas where I can find the whole albums, anyone?
I sooo miss the 80's. Saturday morning cartoons was like church to me and my sister. lol. And yes, I can probably STILL sing every(?) song off this tape. Yellow it was and played a thousand times. If anyone has a copy of it, please share it with me and the rest of us out here! I want my blankie!!!
My name is Amanda too! Anyways, I've got the cassette tape, and two different record versions of that album you're talking about. I looked at the record, and under "Prismatism" it says Patrick, Bourland & Gift. When you google that, you get these names: Richard C. Patrick & Camille Gift & Libby Bourland. Hope that helps!
OMG! I remeber this. I use to sit in my mom's closet with my tape player and sing this song. Last I sung this song I was my daughter's age and I still remember the words at 30!
So this came from Happy Birthday Buddy Blue? Was it a storybook tape?I have this song along with others froma Lp and Tape I had since I was a kid I listen to yours alot becuase I am so afraid to play mine I never want them to break they mean the world to me I am 24 male and I am still rocking out to these songs LOL
I must confess closeted shame! I used to love Rainbow Bright and a little down time at work has allowed me to reconnect with my youth! I'm not ashamed! I still remembered some of the words!
I remember playing this album on my Sesame Street Record Player (the yellow one with the green record base!!!) so much it drove my parents up the rainbow!
i got a rainbow bright record player and this record for my birthday one year and i played the record over and over until my mom hid for awhile and i still have the record and my nieces play it over and over they don't make cartoons like they used too
I have been dying to hear the rest of this record. I've searched on e-bay, they don't have it. I went through my childhood things and can't find it. Could you put more of the songs out here?
I only have the Happy Birthday Buddy Blue cassette tape. This is the only song on it at the end. I'm not sure what songs you're talking about. Even though I remember watching Rainbow Brite on TV, I never got any of the albums. Were they all on cassette? If they were vinyl, I wouldn't have gotten any of them.
They were on vinyl. I found the record(it feels funny saying that) and bought it off E-Bay at a really good price. When I got the record player out my kids were doing the whole "Hey Mom, whats that? Wow you must really be old." thing. Now they like my old music and think I'm wonderful. I wonder how long it takes for that to wear off?
OMG!! I used to LOVE this song when I was little! I got a Rainbow Brite record for Christmas when I was 3 or 4 (I feel so old now!), and I used to listen to this song all the time. I'd forgotten it until I started listening to it here and realized I was singing with it. ;D Thank you so much for posting this!
I'm glad you liked it! I loved jamming to this song as a kid! Sorry to reveal that I'm younger(;P), but it was to a FisherPrice Cassette Playback/Recorder!
That's OK- I am always delighted to learn that the younger generation is turning to heroes we found so hopeful back in the day. Nothing to be ashamed of, being younger. I didn't get a cassette recorder right away growing up.
Yes the yellow on with the green record base and the bird on the tip!?!?!? Aww-- great memories. I was a child DJ prodigy-- at least with this record!

I'm STILL trying to find out who sang "Prismatism" and the other Twink songs on this tape! it wasn't Robbie Lee, it was a man.
It's driving me nuts :P!

The song I have at home on cassette is from the Happy Birthday Buddy Blue read-a-long tape. I got this mp3 off of the website listed in the credits.
