  • this is one of my favorite songs and you made it that much better!!!

  • Yes this is a kool video. I think it depicts the government putting down an uprising of homosexuals/lesbians who were upset after proposition 8!!! Go Uncle Sam, put down the rebellion!!!

  • this is great

    bravo ingenious.

  • 5 STARS *****

  • GREAT VIDEO !

  • this is really awesome ... simplistic and well-thought out -- just cool for a cool one-hit wonder :)

  • I AGREE

  • This video is cool, good job to whoever made this. Make more just like it with same type of songs ,and I would watch them all day.

  • Hey! Does anyone know of a more recent song with the words "take me on your mystery ship...etc" I don't know the rest of the words. I have only ever heard the song once on the radio while visiting Seattle in 2003. It caught my attention straight away and would like to find out what the song is.

  • Wow! that is an awesome video. Too bad the mystery Captain sailed into port at the wrong city.. He got caught up in the government ruthusley supressing an outbreak of marxists, communists, and homosexuals who were revolting when the government stopped their welfare paychecks! Hopefully they fixed this this problem (Obama 2008) so the rest of the country doesn't ahve to deal with this!!!

  • This video rocks and you chose one bad ass song!

  • Excelent song and beautifull Video

    Nice lovely work

  • Wow! that is an awesome video. Too bad the mystery Captain sailed into port at the wrong city.. He got caught up in the government supressing an outbreak of marxists, communists, and homosexuals who were revolting when the government stopped their welfare paychecks!

Good video... I liked the mermaid.

  • "Captain" for president! Mermaid for VICE-PRESIDENT! YEEEAAA

  • HAHAHA

  • The Captain is adorable!!

  • Can anyone out there post a copy on youtube of the Blues Image song "Ain't No Rules In California"? It's a killer song I heard in the 70's, & haven't been able to find since. I know it was recently re-released on the Blues Image CD "Red, White & Blues Image". Thanks!

  • I love this video, so cool. Singing dolphins, a topless mermaid, and oddly disturbing cardboard images of war. Excellent video, odd but great as well because it matches the song.

  • I love the song, but I don't like the video on bit.

  • hello sir Casval this music is everythink

  • Great video work for a fun song!

  • ...good music...

  • Yeah, jjman482, you're right. deckape1956, I apologize. By the way jjman482: Blow me, stupid fuck. Speaking of High School, I'm told you graduated with honors from Gilligan's Island.......

  • Woah!!!!! holy crap honkytalk where the hell did you get your social skills from? Thats all well and good that you know what the song means but if someone doesn't you correct them you don't go out calling them a stupid fuck. Do you need a few more years of high school before your parents can send you out in the world?

  • How about Corps you non spelling freak!

  • Dumbass!!!!! The song is about the capture of the USS Pueblo in 1968 by the North Koreans. It was a listening ship, hence the "Mystery Ship". Stupid fuck.....

  • Wow, this is one of the worst comments I've ever read on youtube. That's saying a lot.

For one, I know of no record indicating Pueblo was ever in San Francisco, and before it was captured it left from Sasebo, Japan.

Whats more, there were more than 80 crewmen on board at that time.

Whats even more, Mike Pinera says he came up with the song by randomly thinking of the number 73.

Want me to poke some more holes in your claim or are you going to stop being an ignorant dick now?

  • one of the best songs ever!

  • You still dont get it do ya--it was about a submarine that had to ditch--i know the story-do all your gay shit!! And i play lead guitar with 'em-TCB

  • "So I say, "Okay, I need a first word." And what came into my head was 73. I liked the rhythm, and I went, "73 men sailed in, from the San Francisco Bay." ... The song sort of just wrote itself from there."

    —Mike Pinera

This song isn't about any ship of any kind. People need to learn it's just a good song and stop trying to force their own meanings onto it, and just enjoy it.

  • exactly

  • i never noticed the solo at the end

  • Next generation come oon its so easy

  • Great job. They were playing this song when they told the city that Trevor Linden was riding. Former Captain of the Canucks and one of Vancouvers favorit Sons

  • Where ever happened to Linden? Did they trade him?

  • nope. He just retired

  • This song reminds me of Delta Company, First Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment , First Marine Division, United States Marine Corp.

  • Awesome! ;D

  • A great song and nice video also.thanks

  • it's about life... the captain was free living and free thinking... when he and his compadres came in and told of their greatness, no one was trying to hear anything they said, so they went on their merry way.

cant make the horse drink the water

    peace

  • Cute production and talented. Best video i've seen on here in a while.

  • The build on this song to the first chorus is just deadly. So powerful.

  • The 2nd lead singer for Blues Image on their second LP was Denny Correll. He had a great voice. Denny became a born again Christian in the 70s and wrote and sang some great songs. To hear more of his music click my username. Thanks

  • Nah..The Captain puppet..If that thing came after you in the dark..AAAHH! Scary Puppet!

  • I'd have to say that if any puppet came after me at any time, that'd freak me out.

  • Excellent- brings me back to a seemingly lost forever time when people still stood up to the government and didn't believe everything they were told.

  • Saw Blues Image at Fillmore West when I was 15-just a killer live show-GREAT guitarist and drums/percussion.Then the complete Santana band got onstage during one of their 2 sets and did a monster jam! • I have been looking for this song on YouTube. Thank you.

  • It's been a long road from the summer of 1970 in Toronto to writing the Constitution for the 3rd Wave of an Internet World. enation.ning

  • Hi gang, mike pinera here, writer, guitarist and singer of this song. Thanks for your comments. There are a few incorrect postings with wrong info. Should I address these? The guy who dubbed his voice and music over mine on one of the videos is really wacky!

  • Hey, Mike. Too bad they didn't let that outro solo go on a few minutes more...Saw you on a double-bill w/the Butterfly (you played for the latter). In Chicago, a tv show used to broadcast this BI song w/ you sining "I don't want, baby" (that's how we intrepreted it, anyhow). Any idea what I'm talking about? It was very cool an not on your album.

  • I like as well as Doug's In A Gadda Da Vida

  • Mike, did the lyrics have to do with the Pueblo incident?one of my top ten songs of All Time!!!what are they --get back, come together, have you ever seen the rain, spirit in the sky, papa was a rollin stone, sympathy for the devil, where did our love go,under my thumb and career opportunities

  • I loved the animation , very cool, very well done.

  • Great song, definitely one of my favorite classic rock songs. The context of your video is a bit wacky. This song for those who didn't know, is about that cult known as Scientology.

  • Should make a movie of this--with Tom Cruise as the "Captain" He was born to play El. Ron Hubbard-who died around the same time as Herbert W. Armstrong did--bad time indeed for cult leaders!

  • I love this song.....very creative video :)
