@Hyan36 So what would you say has the BEST storyline and plot form all teh MG games? I'd say MGS1, thoguh MGS2 is more cerebral(kinda convoluted though, but I actually liked Raiden), MGS3 (awesome prequel, amazing storyline) or MGS4 (great way to cap it off, though again a bit convoluted). I'd just say MGS1 because, thoguh it wasnt the most complicated, it was an amazing start to the MGS series, and its atmosphere was impeccably well thought out, and it was deep.
@CYUS2892 for me is MGS1 > Ops > MGS 3 > MGS4 > MGS2
MGS1 is just too perfect thats why almost every fan agrees that is the best of the series the story is complicated it just happens that MGS2 & MGS4 are even more complicated 1 of the reasons i placed Ops & MGS3 above MGS4 is because scene like this that are very emotional and epic at the same time like on MSG3 when The Boss opens up to Snake before the battle & at the end when Eva explains everything while Snake walks towards The Boss grave

And that Solidus was born years later when they got the cloning method right (combining both dominant and recessive soldier genes), making him a complete direct clone of Big Boss.

Ocelot and the Patriots got it wrong when they thought Liquid was the best clone, they may have gave him the dominant genes but those genes didn't create the best soldier as we see Solid always surviving impossible situations. I think it went like this:
Liquid got the weaker soldier genes, but he got Big Boss' intelligence.
Solid got the stronger soldier genes, but he got average intelligence
Solidus got both thus creating the greatest soldier

Originally Solidus was a clone of big boss. He was referred as the perfect soldier with the same genes as Big boss and Solid and Liquid snake are the sons of big boss

thats the beuty of MGS....just because solid snake is the main protagonist..does not mean he is the perfect clone of big boss...it is in fact solidus snake....and liquid snake is in fact the dominant twin...but it is solid snake that is is a true hero..more than even big boss himself
Big Boss is what you'd call a Tragic Hero, the death of The Boss shaped him into what he eventually became and also meant he lost all faith and loyalty to his country. You can tell at the start of MGS3 that he's the model, patriotic soldier but all that changes when his country forces him to kill the boss.
In a way Solid snake is also a tragic hero as he fought all his life for what he thought was what he believed in, when in reality he was just being used by zero and the patriots.

No, he created Outer Heaven specifically to fight the patriots' control. He wanted a world where soldiers like him would always have a place and would be free from governments and politicians, as he was tired of soldiers being used as tools. But for soldiers to forever have a place this meant the world world have to be eternally plunged into war, which certainly isn't a good thing. He believed that this was The Boss's vision for an ideal world but he admits in MGS4 that he got it wrong.
Thatsa kinda of sugar coating things in BB favor isnt it? Both Zero and Big Boss were villians, trying to impose their own world order. their own view of the Boss' ideals; Zero fighting for total control while BB fought for complete freedom from any control aka anarachy. Snake was a tool of the patriots but BB was still a villian that needed to be stopped. In the end it was Snake who put all the villians to rest (Z, BB, Liquid, Ocelot) and gave us back the freedoms our founding fathers promised.

So Snake beating Big Boss helped the patriots. Next we have Shadow Moses to be rid of Liquid.

@Hyan36 So what would you say has the BEST storyline and plot form all teh MG games? I'd say MGS1, thoguh MGS2 is more cerebral(kinda convoluted though, but I actually liked Raiden), MGS3 (awesome prequel, amazing storyline) or MGS4 (great way to cap it off, though again a bit convoluted). I'd just say MGS1 because, thoguh it wasnt the most complicated, it was an amazing start to the MGS series, and its atmosphere was impeccably well thought out, and it was deep.

@CYUS2892 for me is MGS1 > Ops > MGS 3 > MGS4 > MGS2
MGS1 is just too perfect thats why almost every fan agrees that is the best of the series the story is complicated it just happens that MGS2 & MGS4 are even more complicated 1 of the reasons i placed Ops & MGS3 above MGS4 is because scene like this that are very emotional and epic at the same time like on MSG3 when The Boss opens up to Snake before the battle & at the end when Eva explains everything while Snake walks towards The Boss grave

@Hyan36 Yeah, very true....i'd put MGS 1 first too man, b the rest would be har to place.....in terms of the thinking behind MGS 2 I liked it the most, but MGS 3 asso well executed....4 was well executed AND well portrayed....they are all so good, such itneresting storyline's, so complex and highly intelligent. I think the MGS series is one of the deepest set of games ever made.

It's Liquid Snake. She was telling a Prophecy about Big Boss and his Children. On the left of REX is Solid, on the Right is Liquid. Then next to Big Boss's own Metal gear is Solidus and finally it shows Big Boss himself only older.

@Thimmy85 I thought that Liquid and Solid were indeed brothers born at the same time, but when they were still a zygote they took the dominant soldier genes and gave them all to Liquid and Solid was the leftovers. And that Solidus was born years later when they got the cloning method right (combining both dominant and recessive soldier genes), making him a complete direct clone of Big Boss.
Also, weren't Liquid and Solid Snake physically better than Solidus because of the Super Baby Method?

@Thimmy85 That's how I interpreted it as well. Ocelot and the Patriots got it wrong when they thought Liquid was the best clone, they may have gave him the dominant genes but those genes didn't create the best soldier as we see Solid always surviving impossible situations. I think it went like this:
Liquid got the weaker soldier genes, but he got Big Boss' intelligence.
Solid got the stronger soldier genes, but he got average intelligence
Solidus got both thus creating the greatest soldier

@Evin07 it was stated many times in mgs 1 that genes decide everything or something like that. well, snake did had "inferior" genes and liquid got "dominant" genes, but snake proved this wrong by beating liquid and that wasn't because of genes, but because of experience and so for.

But Big Boss is more lethal because of his experience and health (he doesn't suffer from diseases like accelerated aging). Thus, Big Boss is superior to Solid Snake. The only reason Solid Snake defeated Big Boss was (just like Solid Snake himself said in MGS1) "Big Boss wanted Solid Snake to kill him".

Big Boss is what you'd call a Tragic Hero, the death of The Boss shaped him into what he eventually became and also meant he lost all faith and loyalty to his country. You can tell at the start of MGS3 that he's the model, patriotic soldier but all that changes when his country forces him to kill the boss.
In a way Solid snake is also a tragic hero as he fought all his life for what he thought was what he believed in, when in reality he was just being used by zero and the patriots.

technically big boss does not become evil....he never loved or even wanted or cared for his sons..including solid snake...instead..using gene's funds...he created outer heaven and zanzibar land to protect himself and his fellow loyal soldiers from zero's patriots...so in reality he was actually a good man trying to protect himself and his men...it was actually solid snake destroyed big boss's plans...solid snake unknowingly did the patriots a favor!!!

No, he created Outer Heaven specifically to fight the patriots' control. He wanted a world where soldiers like him would always have a place and would be free from governments and politicians, as he was tired of soldiers being used as tools. But for soldiers to forever have a place this meant the world world have to be eternally plunged into war, which certainly isn't a good thing. He believed that this was The Boss's vision for an ideal world but he admits in MGS4 that he got it wrong.

Thatsa kinda of sugar coating things in BB favor isnt it? Both Zero and Big Boss were villians, trying to impose their own world order. their own view of the Boss' ideals; Zero fighting for total control while BB fought for complete freedom from any control aka anarachy. Snake was a tool of the patriots but BB was still a villian that needed to be stopped. In the end it was Snake who put all the villians to rest (Z, BB, Liquid, Ocelot) and gave us back the freedoms our founding fathers promised.

So by ridding the patriots of their enemies, it allowed them to gain more control over the world, thus leading to world to run only on a war economy, just as the Patriots AI intended.
Then with SOP, the Patriots wanted total control of the population.
Solid Snake brought the world to ruin, as he says in MGS4 that it's their mistake that he has to fix. He also saved the world by getting the Mark 3 to GW and putting Fox Alive on it, ending SOP and the Patriots.

No Sniper, he destroyed the world as well.
He opposed Big Boss both times and beat him in Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land.
Big Boss was opposing Zero.
So Snake beating Big Boss helped the patriots. Next we have Shadow Moses to be rid of Liquid.
Then in MGS2 He continued to play the pawn for the patriots with the tanker incident, thus leading to the Big Shell and creation of Arsenal Gear and the S3 plan which evolved into SOP.
