Well, I like the costume, and the hip locks and belly rolls were good. She seemed to have a problem keeping up with the drums, though. Maybe she isn't used to performing at such events?
I'm the dancer in the video and thanks so much for the compliments. I realize this is a really late response, but oh well. As for my "trouble" keeping up with the drums, I don't recall which night this was, but I danced for 4-6 hours every night for four nights in a row. If I had danced fast for that long my body would have collapsed, so I had to switch back and forth from fast to slow. Obviously this was during a slow period.
4-6 hours every night? Well that certainly does put things in perspective. I do beg your pardon. Now that I look at the video again, you were quite on the beat. And I do like slow bellydancing :)
The girl in red shows up every year. She's a very nice person, easy to talk to, and one of the best dancers at DC.
