@CleanRascal3 u can't record video on ur SD card in the gs320. Just snapshots. This is a minidv camera, so u have to capture through a software like vegas, premiere or motiondvstudio.

This camera is not bad for a cheap 3 chipper. It lacks all the inputs except fire wire and usb 2.0. It shoots at 60fps and not any lower. This is a good little camera especially as a 2nd camera . It's not HD. I paid $380.00 for mine. Good decision........Not even close to pro...but, still a descent camcorder.....

but you can't transfer videos using the SD card. Firewire works excellently - and is the only option for Premiere Pro, for example, but USB works quite well too - especially for a simple editing program like Windows Movie Maker

No you can't Unscrew the lens, or you'll have to screw the whole thing apart... but you can mount a fisheye ON the lens, then you have fisheye, Like me...

yes.... this one has that just because it also holds tapes so u can film to a tape. but if u find one that is only digital then it won't have the black bulky "shit" and it will use an SD card

ok, for this camera your gonna need a firewire port.

your computer might not have one, but it's only like 20 bucks anyway. make sure that's compatible with your computer.

then, you need a Firewire cable to transfer the vids.

The thing is, this camcorder uses mini DV disc.

People think this is bad, but it's actually better than hard drives

Why? because the mini DV discs have better quality and stores better quality. it seems like a lot, but it's a lot better too

it doesn't matter what kind of camera it is. all cameras can connect to a computer and edit. when recording to tape(which is much much better) use a firewire and when recording to a digital card (which sucks) use a USB cable.

crsle is right, but one benefit of HDD over tape is transfers. HDD is like dropping files in Explorer, MiniDV, like this camcorder here (which I own), transfers are done in real time, for example, 30 minutes of video transfers at 30 minutes as the tape plays.

the cable you got is probably a USB cable, this is intended to upload your still photos from the SD card.

To capture your footage from the mini-DV tapes you need a firewire cable, they don't come in the package.

I got a ProfiGold cable, they're a bit more price but very good quality and you get endless warranty with it.

I have this camera paired with hoya cir-pol

filter. It gets u very good colors but It lacks low light performance...the manual focus is not really that much manual, unless u are very good with joy sticks. white balance are only couple presets, but u do get to mod gain, iris which is a plus. I got mine on ebay 400 with a small tripod, carrying bag and cleaning fluid a year ago. Still a good deal i think.
