not necessarily butchered it. I think they just took the song and made it into something that was enjoyable by a larger audience. Original has very unique sound to it and Cosmic Gate simply took it and added their usual style that is in most their music. I agree with you though that original version is better.

I prefer cosmic gate's remix. The original is a little too 'hard' for me. I think the 'i love you' sounds more sincere behind the softer melodies of cg's version.
