@oSoReLaXeD There's nothing incredible about a C2, no. It's just a rather low note, even for a bass. Most vocal arrangements or even opera don't ask for low male voices to sing below an E2. I was just showing off with morning voice (and hair), nothing more. ;-)
@bobby1829387 I bet I'd envy your high range. Even if low notes are cool, it's tenors who get all the glory, the money and the women (at least in opera). So worry no more.
you have an amazing voice tone whih I personally love, especially in yours classic barbershops like "Good Ol' Summertime". Its amazing how high and how LOW you can sing. Really admirable.
If you are interested in learning the songs I published on my channel, send me an email to jneel@free.fr, I sell audio learning tracks (separate MP3 files for each track I recorded). Cheers ;-)
I thought C1 was what he just sang?? The low note?? On a GP theres one C before the low C he just sang right?? Or have I been a number off my whole liife lol
@LilKroog I've recorded the vid's audio and it gave me an WAV file. If you get an Mp3, Ogg, WMA and other formats, convert it into a WAV. After that I've placed the file in a place that I'll remember well and know that it wont get deleted (that can be almost anywhere you want!). Then I've opened the control panel and clicked on Personalization then Sound. I've selected Windows Logoff and clicked on Browse. I've selected the file I've created earlier, applied and restarted. That's for Win 7 BTW.
@ImaginaryMdA There's a trick : drinking warm beer to make you vocal chords thicker and more relaxed. And again, singing close to a microphone makes it easy to get a loud C2, I could never pull that off on a stage live with no equipment. At best an F2. Beer, it does a body good! ;-)
Ew, beer! but as long as it's beneficial for your voice, I guess it's a great thing!
(I'm not saying you shouldn't drink beer, really I'm not!)
a C2 is that a C sharp? I guess it has to be, but still I can only hit an E, and I'm considered to be baritone, so if a tenor even reaches an F sharp, that's just crazy!
@ImaginaryMdA No, C2 is a low bass C (the second octave on the piano, C0 and C1 being the first two Cs, but no one can sing those). Again, I sang this with a microphone, it's not fair to say I can sing a C2... Same goes for my upper limit : in full voice, I can sing a B4 (last tenor note of "In The Good Old Summertime"), and in falsetto, I can go up to F5. It sounds pretty screamy and thin though... My range of comfort, on stage, with no microphone and singing in full voice is G2 to A4. ;-)
Well, I'm pretty sure it's not the computer singing the C2 or is it, so I'm quite positive the right terminology would be that you actually produced the sound commonly known as a C2,
I admire your range! I always look at scores in one of our books, and always have to search for the highest note before I can start singing and they all have those A's! I'd love to be able to sing that high! two octaves and a secunde, in one word WOW!!!!!!
Great sound, great blend. I only have one problem. It's a little too strict in timing. I like for tags to be more free (although there are some tags you can't have much freedom with). I've never heard this tag as sung by whoever made it popular, but I think it needs more freedom to it. Don't move so quickly through it (but not too slowly) and hold out the last chord a little longer.
Thank you for the feedback. I agree, I rushed it too much. It's more a "show-off" tag than something worth listening too anyway, but the advice applies for full barbershop song endings in general. Cheers.
Congrats on the C2, Juilen. I'm still working on my lower range (I can hit an E2 consistently). I've got a cold right now, and on the first day of the cold, I could hit a A1! Maybe I should try stout...
Don't confuse the poor lad. Snegenad1, do you not hear the octaves with bass and "umph" bass? The "umph" bass is not actually singing "umph". Only to show that the bass and "umph" bass end on same notes only octaves apart. i.e. C3 and C2. Maybe that helps. =)
@firemanbucs Thanks, I know he wasnt singing Umphs, I was joking. I just didn't hear the difference. By the way I think this is Juliens best one so far. Can't get it out of my head! =)
Nice one, Julien! Only complaint is that some of those chords could have been a bit longer - especially that last one, which was GREAT, but too short! I wanted more from that last chord!!
Dude you absolutely ROCK! We never got to that Golden Gate Quartet tune...but man, I watched your vids tirelessly tonight...delightful! Merci m'sieur!

Are C2s supposed to be really really difficult to sing? I'm 15 and I've been able to reach C2 since I was about 13 and a half.

this time definitely the umph bass hair do! or the tenor, but you must really dislike baritones!
but really for a tenor, that's quite low you know!
maybe you should call yourself a universal singer, rather than just tenor,
