  • Are C2s supposed to be really really difficult to sing? I'm 15 and I've been able to reach C2 since I was about 13 and a half.

  • @oSoReLaXeD There's nothing incredible about a C2, no. It's just a rather low note, even for a bass. Most vocal arrangements or even opera don't ask for low male voices to sing below an E2. I was just showing off with morning voice (and hair), nothing more. ;-)

  • C2........C2..........C FUCKING 2

  • @FrenchHornGuy0703 My reaction, basically.

  • Wow I would love to have your voice, I am 17 and am stretching it to hit an E flat2 in the morning!

  • @bobby1829387 I bet I'd envy your high range. Even if low notes are cool, it's tenors who get all the glory, the money and the women (at least in opera). So worry no more.

  • @trudbol lol Thanks! By the way, I love your videos, thanks for posting them.

  • @bobby1829387 Thanks! ;-)

  • was that C legit or an octiver?

  • @MarkisMedia Real C2. You'd hear it if it were fake, octavers give a really robotic sound to the voice. I'm a bari-bass. ;-)

  • @trudbol awesome tone man...that was sick

  • @MarkisMedia Legit C2. Beer. Beer....

  • man... if only I could drink beer XD

  • you have an amazing voice tone whih I personally love, especially in yours classic barbershops like "Good Ol' Summertime". Its amazing how high and how LOW you can sing. Really admirable.

  • same here can only go that low in the morning a C is streching it but an e flat comes out nice, im 17 too

  • WOOHOO I JUST SANG THE BASS PART

  • @MrOct1993 LOL. ;-)

If you are interested in learning the songs I published on my channel, send me an email to jneel@free.fr, I sell audio learning tracks (separate MP3 files for each track I recorded). Cheers ;-)

  • was the umph bass in the morning??? i can sing a low c in the morning for maybe 15 mins ahahaha

  • @ganekelioque Yup, that's exactly how I did it. ;-) That and a few beers too.

  • hahaha umph bass!!

  • hair!^^

  • Your hair really takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Good job!

  • @2Perky True true... but that was a long time ago now! ;-)

  • I thought C1 was what he just sang?? The low note?? On a GP theres one C before the low C he just sang right?? Or have I been a number off my whole liife lol

  • @Eflatsarenice Yeah, the first C on the piano is C0. ;-)

  • @Eflatsarenice he sang a C2 bro. C1 is the lowest C on piano

the lowest note on the piano is A0, then B0 then C1, then so on and so forth.

  • Nice job! Is that a product placement? Hmmm. May have to try that!

  • @MDMesser001 Haha, just read your comment. Yeah : beer, it does a body good! Hum...

  • Whenever I shut down or restart my computer, this plays :)

  • @lilPat W00t! Thanks! ;-)

  • @trudbol Nononono thank YOU! :D

  • @lilPat how do you get it to do that D:

  • @LilKroog I've recorded the vid's audio and it gave me an WAV file. If you get an Mp3, Ogg, WMA and other formats, convert it into a WAV. After that I've placed the file in a place that I'll remember well and know that it wont get deleted (that can be almost anywhere you want!). Then I've opened the control panel and clicked on Personalization then Sound. I've selected Windows Logoff and clicked on Browse. I've selected the file I've created earlier, applied and restarted. That's for Win 7 BTW.

  • this time definitely the umph bass hair do! or the tenor, but you must really dislike baritones!

but really for a tenor, that's quite low you know!

maybe you should call yourself a universal singer, rather than just tenor,

  • @ImaginaryMdA There's a trick : drinking warm beer to make you vocal chords thicker and more relaxed. And again, singing close to a microphone makes it easy to get a loud C2, I could never pull that off on a stage live with no equipment. At best an F2. Beer, it does a body good! ;-)

  • @trudbol

Ew, beer! but as long as it's beneficial for your voice, I guess it's a great thing!

(I'm not saying you shouldn't drink beer, really I'm not!)

a C2 is that a C sharp? I guess it has to be, but still I can only hit an E, and I'm considered to be baritone, so if a tenor even reaches an F sharp, that's just crazy!

but I really wonder what your upper limit is?

  • @ImaginaryMdA No, C2 is a low bass C (the second octave on the piano, C0 and C1 being the first two Cs, but no one can sing those). Again, I sang this with a microphone, it's not fair to say I can sing a C2... Same goes for my upper limit : in full voice, I can sing a B4 (last tenor note of "In The Good Old Summertime"), and in falsetto, I can go up to F5. It sounds pretty screamy and thin though... My range of comfort, on stage, with no microphone and singing in full voice is G2 to A4. ;-)

  • @trudbol

ow now I get it! damned, I should've known that!

Well, I'm pretty sure it's not the computer singing the C2 or is it, so I'm quite positive the right terminology would be that you actually produced the sound commonly known as a C2,

I admire your range! I always look at scores in one of our books, and always have to search for the highest note before I can start singing and they all have those A's! I'd love to be able to sing that high! two octaves and a secunde, in one word WOW!!!!!!

  • @trudbol: “C0 and C1 being the first two Cs, but no one can sing those”

    Tim Waurick can. ;-)

    v=GsjLtKNLDNE

  • @COMALiteJ so can tim storms

  • love the harmony and the range!!!! but........ whats up with the hair???? LOL

  • I think it's great you can hit lower notes the day after a few beers

  • I love your hair!! xD

  • i love your music men

  • your the best singer´s youtube

  • DAT BASS

  • lol sweet dawg lol

  • Awesome! You have incredible range!

  • Thanks!

  • is that last umph bass note a C1 ...

    if so awesome job

    i love all dees vids

  • Yeah it's a C1. Beer does a body good! Cheers and thanks for watching my stuff

  • @ Trudbol and uppergaragerecording-

actually its a C2 a C1 is really hard to hit.

  • @trudbol i think that´s a C2... wich is really low

  • excelent! tres bien!

  • Great sound, great blend. I only have one problem. It's a little too strict in timing. I like for tags to be more free (although there are some tags you can't have much freedom with). I've never heard this tag as sung by whoever made it popular, but I think it needs more freedom to it. Don't move so quickly through it (but not too slowly) and hold out the last chord a little longer.

But like I said...great sound and great blend.

  • Thank you for the feedback. I agree, I rushed it too much. It's more a "show-off" tag than something worth listening too anyway, but the advice applies for full barbershop song endings in general. Cheers.

  • DAMN that was cool! I LOVE IT

  • DUDE! The "umph bass"....EPIC.

  • Congrats on the C2, Juilen. I'm still working on my lower range (I can hit an E2 consistently). I've got a cold right now, and on the first day of the cold, I could hit a A1! Maybe I should try stout...

  • Don't confuse the poor lad. Snegenad1, do you not hear the octaves with bass and "umph" bass? The "umph" bass is not actually singing "umph". Only to show that the bass and "umph" bass end on same notes only octaves apart. i.e. C3 and C2. Maybe that helps. =)

  • @firemanbucs Thanks, I know he wasnt singing Umphs, I was joking. I just didn't hear the difference. By the way I think this is Juliens best one so far. Can't get it out of my head! =)

  • What we have here is a Barbershop Quintet! I didn't hear any "Umph"s though?

  • did you not hear that C2?

  • holy bass! fantastic!!!

  • a chaque fois que je regarde cette vidéo je suis trop mort de rire à la fin avec la 33 export hahaha =)

  • wow that was amazing !!

  • what the bass!

  • Nice one, Julien! Only complaint is that some of those chords could have been a bit longer - especially that last one, which was GREAT, but too short! I wanted more from that last chord!!

  • Dude you absolutely ROCK! We never got to that Golden Gate Quartet tune...but man, I watched your vids tirelessly tonight...delightful! Merci m'sieur!

  • Lol were you talking to me or Julien? You replied to me :s

  • I'm 15, I can hit a Low C, but with nowhere near as much force and comfort that you do it with. Bravo!

  • dude....that bass was incredible....mass props to you mate!!!!!

  • Holy bass!

  • doesn't it remind you of the thing we are doing? I was originally going to do this with him but I went away to camp ( sorry) and lost the opportunity

    Lovely, brief, exciting.

  • How much drinking did that take?

I have the note, but that kind of power is just scary.

  • 3 cans, two in the evening and one in the morning. I was slightly... happy when singing the bass part. Beer sure does wonders. Cheers man.

  • Love it!

  • Yeah Orien, learn from Julien about that sync thing ;)! I know, I know: you know how to, but you are to lazy to :).

  • Ouch.

    :(

  • Hey, I'm just kidding, man - your videos are great and you are one of the very best multitrackers on YouTube, IMO! But I'm not the first one telling you they could be a little better in sync.

  • Thanks Big-O! It's your tutorial video that made me want to sing it, it's really contagious! Would you mind adding this tag as a video comment to yours please? Cheers.

  • Another gem.

I sing "Sincere" with you nearly every day.

  • and the hair styles are getting better and better!

  • Will do, it's in the making now that I have more time. Preparing multitrack videos is a time sinkhole... Thanks for you comment.

  • Yea! W00t is a great cheer!

and it's good to hear, though I'm not sure when I'll have the chance to record my part with a busy summer as I'm having

  • Hey, it's great, Julien!

I love that sub bass voice! It's a nice variety to the other versions of the tag on YouTube. The video setup is interesting, too and your hairdo's are awesome, as always :)!

  • I agree entirely. The tag is great, the setup is cool, and the hair is spectacular.

  • Thanks guys, much appreciated!

  • I subscribed at you. You should make vids more often! Great but short!

  • Will do. I too find tags a little frustrating. I'm working on a few other songs now that the summer's here. Thanks for your comment.

  • ha ha i love your way dude
